In the woods
I'm not sure what Zibanejad is supposed to do there. He's up against a superior opponent who is at the tip top of his game this year in Barkov and the coaching staff clearly was matching them. He noticed that offense wasn't coming easily for him or his line so he did what he could to mitigate any losses, hoping that others would pick up the slack offensively. I mean he didn't do that well but literally no one is doing well against Barkov.
Saying his lack of scoring wasn't so bad bc his line was so great defensively vs a line that they couldn't clear the zone against while giving up plenty high danger chances is the qualm.

I wasn't saying that his lack of scoring wasn't bad. All I'm saying is that in certain matchups, one of the lines is likely to be over its head. In a playoff series it's often line vs line. I would love for Zibanejad to have the personality of 'I don't care who is in front of me, I am going though them' but that's clearly not him. He looked at it, analyzed it and thought his best path forward was to play responsible defensively as best as he could. Not saying it's right, but he was up against a superior opponent

I don't expect Ottawa to move Brady Tkachuk this summer, but I also wouldn't be surprised if Brooks writes an article explaining that the Rangers would aggressively pursue BT in the event he asks out. I could see the Rangers playing 5d chess by encouraging Brooks to write such an article to pressure the Sens and Tkachuk after Matthew hoists the Cup.

You also believe he was 185lbs? hahaha

The people that cover the combine literally publicly mock those measurements as being inaccurate. Friedman and marek were just making fun of those stats a couple weeks ago.

Believe what you want
It has been said Sam Bennett failed to complete one single pull up in the physical testing at the draft combine....now that is a hard one to believe as well. Thought I would throw it out there for those that get hung up on stats . No pull or pun intended . Enjoy your weekend folks . Go Rangers....

He had a torn labrum or rotator cuff (I forget which) during the combine so that checks out.

No one fudges the measurements though as there is no incentive to do so (we hear about how player x is either bigger or not as big as listed all the time at these things.) OP just can't admit he was wrong about this for what ever reason. Any of the eye rolling has been done at the behest of the value of the actual testing. I don't agree with it being useless, but there are legitimate questions as to how valuable some of these things are.

You guys thought I was crazy when I said 6 was the lowest that would get it done. Not crazy.
I don't think that's going to be the final price/term obviously, but the fact that it's even floated around there is absurd. That's like saying Goodrow should make 6x6. A very good comparable actualy.

Oh I think it’s absurd. I also think it’s what he’s going to get.

We gave 31 year old Wade Redden 6x6.5, or 6x10.2 in today's cap dollars. In case anyone felt like casting stones.
If salary cap wasn't a thing I would gladly pay Zadorov 15 million dollars just because he's shitting on Putin and dropping great quotes every interview he does. Like I said, one of the best personalities in the league.

UNFORTUNATELY, you have to pay for on-ice performance on this league.

The people here are funny. I wanted Zadorov last winter. 9 out of 10 people thought it was not necessary and where would Zadorov play. The Rangers would be fools to sit the great Gustafsson for Zadorov. Really? All you read on here now is Zadorov. The next contract is a big contract. Pass.

Dakota Joshua. The Vancouver guy thinks Chicago will take a big run at him. They have the space to expedite the rebuild.

I would've loved Zadorov retained for the 3rd pair. A lot of teams would've. Vancouver got him because they were willing to take on the full cap hit of 3.75

The Rangers need to stay out of the deep end in UFA, and let players come to them (if they want to be here) and see what’s left after the initial frenzy. They just don’t have the cap space to go and sign any of these guys.

Any improvement should come via trade. Brady Tkachuk. Shea Theodore. Those would be the two guys I target and if I couldn’t land them I would run it back with minor tweaks.

Laine would have to be at 50% retained and they'd still not get much back from me. Having said all that, getting him in the right environment, in Mika's spot on the pp, might be a steal for us. Bread to Laine or Fox to Laine for the one timer might be deadly.

Just what the Rangers need a player that has issues and is big, soft and injury prone. How about a Tkachuk lite type of player in the top 6. Rangers are too finesse heavy for playoff success. Rangers should have an offseason like the Panthers. Bring those types of players. Change the DNA with the Rangers

We're gonna come out of this off-season with Marner and Draisaitl.

THE CUP IS OURS.

The idea of Laine is almost always better than the practical conception.
