The more I think about it the more I believe reuniting with Buch might be the move for this team. Reunite the top line. Move Kakko down to 3rd where he belongs for now. And then shop smart/cheap for a Center, Henrique etc. With regarding Buch, got to forget history and assets come and gone. New slate, new deal.

1st, Jones/Sykora +

Must not part with Kakko, Perreault, or Othmann. 1st rounder must absolutely be in play if you are going for the Cup.
Nope....these "rekindle" moves almost never work....we saw that last year with Kane/Panarin "reunion".

Kakko is on the table in a Buch trade imo
I'd bet he isn't. But I guarantee he is asked about.

Berard + Robertson + 2024 1st + 2026 3rd (can become 1st is Rangers win cup in 2024/2025)

An interesting discussion would be if the choice were to send one of Kakko/Othmann, who folks would prefer.

Othmann's position is more of a log jam
Laf is full time RW

Othmann will be bottom 6 LW for the first 2 years most likely. Kreider will be good for 3rd line by the time we get 2 years from now. If Kreider hasn't put himself there by then, well, what a wonderful problem to have.

If they feel so inclined.

Robertsson id be a little hesitant with considering there isnt much depth there, especially since Gus could walk

on a penalty shot lol

that year was so full of moments, man.

He looked like he was pissed he scored.

Kakko will always be the better all around player but I have more hope that Othmann turns into a scorer than Kakko. I think that ship has sailed.

fair ?.
IF IF IF we MUST choose one, I would deal Ott. He is unknown at this pt, even tho there is full reason to be optimistic. KK has potential beast factor, which outside of Kreider, Rempe and to a more calm degree Edstrom, we dont see.

Also while KK is affordable, Ott is in his elc yrs = ups value on that aspect.

Keep both, play Ott, sit Good
like yesterday

If/when we can do Zegras + for Othman + Berard ++. then ok
otherwise roll w/youth

You're just digging yourself in deeper. Take the loss and be done with it.
I’m serious though. Drury literally was GM of the Hartford team. For him to roast a player about exercising a clause given to them in their contract is beyond shitty. I’d dip too to go play in a better league for way more money where I actually speak the language, especially after the team plays Greg Mckegg over me

Kravtsov has proven exactly nothing in the NHL at either coast and did nothing with his chances here or in Vancouver. The unsubstantiated Drury “roasting” was probably called for if it even happened.

Rather Otter based on attitude and contract status. I also have more confidence he becomes a 20 goal scorer than Kakko

Disagree. I don’t know how it’s good practice to chew players out for making a decision they’re contractually allowed to make. To me he showed a lot more than Reaves/Mckegg did and those guys got infinitely more run than him

Greg McKegg was better. You still lose. Good day sir!

Would teams avoid trading with the Rangers because guys like Perreault and Othmann are off limits? Imagine come Friday Rangers can't find a way to make a deal. Wouldnt be the worst thing.
