He actually looked pretty good today. I do agree Roslovic is a great add but Pacioretty might have been good too. Also I am dubious of the report that he nixed the deal. I don’t think thats substantiated, is it?

I remember there were reports before the deadline that pacioretty was pushing for a deal to the rangers. Again, not saying it’s one way or the other. But I would be surprised he’d turn down a playoff run. It’s not like he has a bunch of Stanley cup rings already. But anyhow, I’m quite happy with how it worked out. If a guy doesn’t want the playoffs he’s probably not the right guy anyhow.

I think both Friedman and Seravalli have mentioned on their shows that Pacioretty could’ve gone to the Rangers but didn’t want to waive his NTC to stay near his family. I’m sure one of them tweeted it too

Wennberg and Roslovic are fine players for rentals but they are fools gold. Don't fall for that trap.

We need upgrades.

If we can upgrade Zib’s RW we should, however Wennberg as a 3C is fine for a couple of years or another role if Chytil comes back and still slots inat C. We can hopefully fill bottom 6 C from within the system in the next 3years. It depends on who, and the cost, but I wouldn’t spend too heavily (with cap or assets) to bring in another 3C.

Read today that Max Pac rejected a trade to NYR then we pivoted to Roslovic.. I feel like Jack is the better fit anyway

I’d re-sign Panarin who plays a cerebral game like Fox that isn’t dependent on physical attributes and should age well, especially with the lack of NHL mileage compared to most stars his age

With the remaining money I’d think we’ll be re-signing our own guys mostly, definitely not Trouba though lol. Maybe a C but doubt we’ll need one since we’re stuck with Mika

Couple of things

Gustafsson looks like a different player than he did earlier in the year, and not in a good way. Most of the year he's been electric, not so much now

Jones is playing like he belongs. The past couple of years he'd come up and didn't look comfortable with the puck. That's his bread and butter... but it hadn't translated yet. He's playing confident now.

Goodrow should be the oddman out on the rotation Lavi is doing
