Gorton also said that youngsters will have to prove they are ready and that he wants Chytil and Andersson to grow together with this group of 18-20 year olds. Put it all together and the only possible conclusion is that at least two or even all three of center prospects will start the season in Hartford.

if that happens several people here will be out $60 for the new ahl tv lol

I assume you're joking, but if not, that's a terrible mischaracterization of what was said.

While I was completely joking with that post, I do genuinely feel that his grand "plan" is for complete shit.
Not a JG fan..

eventually yes. but moving hayes and/or zib shouldn't even be a discussion until the kids make the roster...and for the 3 kids i think that saying they will all start at their natural center position is fair. moving them now would be premature...let them prove themselves and then figure it out. its a good problem to have. and i like that they aren't going to move them to wing just to force them into the nhl lineup

Exactly. I'd much rather they start at Hartford unless they really earn their way in Camp. We'll see all 3 of them some point this season, just may not be from the start.

It's going to make for an incredibly bland and boring on ice product for most of the year but I don't really care, this team probably isn't going to be very good with or with out the rooks. Let a few of the vets beef up their trade value.

The comparison to 2010-11 just doesn’t work.

That team had prime Hank and Gaborik, who despite his down season still scored at nearly a 30 goal, 60 point pace over 82 games.

But if we’re being real, Hank really dragged that team into the playoffs. Even if they end up being able to match what the skaters gave them in 2010-11, Hank isn’t that Hank anymore.

Ok there is no source that it didn’t happen.

But it didn’t happen.

Fact is you don't know jack,just as I don't.
Funny thing though is that you keep talking like things are certain.
Like when Zuccarello was getting traded last summer, then last deadline etc.
You do t know more than anyone else, but still you keep flapping your lips like your opinions are gospel. You don't know shit, you're expressing your opinion, which is fine. Just stop selling it as fact, and stop trying to bully or degrade anyone who has other opinions.
Thing is, as I see it Webster probably has way more Intel than you do on Zuccarello.

Say you disagree, that it's probably not so or whatever. [mod] Again, you do t know, he might not know, I have no idea. I do know being 6 ft whatever and 200 + lbs dosnt always make you a badass though

The ignore feature is your friend ;)

So Gorton will toss a veteran if a youngster shows himself ready for the team.

I'd say he means Ronning, a fast little guy who can finish. And McLeod to the minors, we only need him against the Flyers.
I don’t think we have any games on the schedule against the 1997 Flyers next season

Guy actually has some interesting posts when he isn't just trying to be "funny".
I have no one on ignore here, I actually enjoy different opinions. I just do t like bullies

They missed the playoffs for 7 years with no glimmer of hope they whole time and they still sold out every night. They are the most valuable franchise in the league. I think they'll be more than fine. They aren't comparable to the Coyotes in any way, shape or form.
The Maple Laughs would debate the "most valuable franchise" title...

On the other hand, you don't see many people giving up seats (I am one of the few). If they do, the suits are ready to grab them.

The Rangers and Kevin Hayes. Why didn't the Rangers just give Hayes the long term contract this summer? The Rangers have some trepidation in giving Hayes a long term contract. They had the cap space. If Hayes has a career season in his walk year, do the Rangers trust him long-term? Hayes gets his long-term contract and the pressure to produce is over. Long term security. Hayes can just go back to being fat, lazy and going with the flow counting his money. Gorton makes the comment about having Hayes come into camp in great shape. That's always been an issue with Hayes. He was in poor shape in his 2nd season. The Rangers should trade Hayes at the deadline.

It's not an opinion, it's a bull shit statement. If you believe it, you're as big of a fool as he is.

Don't mistake calling someone out on their BS as bullying. If it weren't zuccarello related, you wouldn't have a problem with it so lets not make this something it really isn't.

I think the "most valuable" designation comes from the Forbes ranking earlier, which is always debatable.

In the Maloney interview that everyone is citing he never said they were "out of shape"

He said they finished in the last 3.

I won't debate Smith... he looked like crap, played like crap and was rumored to have show up in bad shape after a "fun" summer.

Kirk was playing on a bum knee. I won't debate him either as we don't know how bad it was at the time and/or if that affected his conditioning. If you have a link to say he was out of shape then I'll gladly say that sucks and he knows better.

Leaving us with Zbad... so if he came in 3rd to last and 4th to last was .0001% better then what?

It's all speculation because Maloney never said they looked like fat, beer and brat swilling middle aged Dads... he said they finished last 3 on a team of pro athletes.

he did say Shattenkirk was never in shape. 5:30 of this video

The most recent Forbes list had the rangers as the most valuable NHL team (maybe even the past few years in a row too) with the Leafs and Canadiens at 2&3, it probably has to do with the exchange rate between Canadian and US dollars, but those 3 teams are generally interchangeable in the top 3

TML will probably overtake us at some point due to their recent success, unless of course the CDN tanks. Its been roughly the same for ~3 years now.

They can debate it all they want. According to Forbes we’re the most valuable.

The Forbes valuations are always tricky since it's based a lot on estimation and publicly available info. They don't have access to the "real" books so they can never know for sure. It's also difficult when the ownership splits the assets into different corporations and all that. I'm not a business guy but I know it's difficult to accurately track revenues and profits and valuations when there are so many moving parts and a lot of them aren't totally publicly accessible, and use "fuzzy math." LOL. It's like when the NFL used to claim that franchises weren't all profitable and we knew that was horseshit, but didn't necessarily have the numbers available to prove it.
