If someone is asking me what the team needs and we are bargain bin shopping I am probably looking for a Vesey clone. Perhaps a more physical Vesey. Who can find me that player?
Vesey but we just play him more.
Similarity Scores to Brandon Tanev, Garrett Hathaway & Nic Dowd. Maybe Ryan Donato type. Don’t think the Metro teams are selling though.

Seattle has a bunch of players that could make sense. I’m still calling up San Jose for Zetterlund though

I'm not running him for anything. I'm just saying it's inaccurate to say he wasn't valued. They offered him a contract that made sense and he turned it down for one that was a bit better. Nobody is obligated to play for the Rangers.
It didn’t make sense to Fast, who wanted term. Anyways, we were talking about his hit on Chytil.

Tanev gets caved at 5v5. Hathaway would have been a good move if the team had cap space last off-season. Someone like Hathaway is who I am thinking.

I had no issue with the hit.

Is it possible somebody goes after him anyway because that's just the way it is? Sure, and I'd be fine with that too.
We’ll go after Fast for a clean, nothing-burger hit that saw him bounce off Chytil, but what have we done to Pastrnak who is actively trying to injure Lindgren?

Panarin went after him and then they threw him out of the game. What did you want done in that window?

People go after Trouba for legal hits all the time. That's just part of the game.

Yeah, Tanev isn’t my pick either. Just going by HK Ref similarity score

Fast left because he saw the writing on the wall. Hank and Staal would be gone, team in transition and he didnt want to stick around for it. All the ex-Rangers to go to Carolina has amounted to nada for them. Hope it was worth it.

Eh, I’m glad Panarin jostled him, but that’s not enough.

@IDvsEGO Pastrnak’s first cheap shot on Lindgren was over a year ago, plenty of opportunities to set him straight since then. We haven’t, so he continues. Maybe next time he actually injures Lindgren.

It’s not the same as Trouba. Trouba gets challenged after his hits and he fights them, it’s over. Pastrnak isn’t challenging anyone. He’s cheap-shotting with an attempt to injure. That needs to be stopped.

Just play Edstrom and see what he can do.

Othmann is a year or less out.

Berard and Sykora are 1 to 2 years out but project to be that type of player. Drury knows this is a need. He'll bargain bin shop at the deadline. You have Vesey and Bonino that can slot up and down and won't look out of place.

Cuylle, Pitlick and Goodrow would stick out like bullocks on a bulldog if they got a sniff of top 6 ES ice time.

If anything, I'm still calling up Phil Kessel. Guy can still play and has won multiple cups.

As long as Pastrnak is bringing in that sweet sweet Dunkin Donuts money in for the NHL, hes untouchable.

I’d like to hear the details first, but Perry I think is preferable to Kessel.

I'm still also putting out calls and seeing what Chytil and Lindgren can bring back in hockey trades over the summer. Hanafin on paper looks like a great partner for Fox but will cost too much.

Take note of LHD's and centers between the ages of 21 and 25 that are blocked and have good underlying possession numbers that would be able to handle additional responsibilities.

We previously gave him a 3 year $5.5 mill deal. Carolina gave him a 3 year $6 mill deal. Followed by a 2 year $4.8 mill deal.

Given NHL salary inflation all 3 contracts have been in a very close ball park. He has nothing to complain about imo.

Things are rolling pretty well right now. If he's 100% clean and sober I'd think about it. I have doubts about introducing that baggage to the room at the moment.

I'd be a bitter bitch too. He was player's player about the whole time he was here and the front office didn't value him.
Disagree to the extent it was more a function, imo, of him getting older and more expensive in a hard cap situation, and hustle + smarts can get you far, but at some pt if/when the wheels fall off you're effed.

If the NYR team is convinced that Pasternak is trying to go after Lindy someone should go after him but we don't really have any top 30 fighters on this team. Normally it should be Lindy to go after him but given how many injuries Lindy has had I just don't know if that is wise anymore.

Perry is a winner and leader at every level of play in his career. We don’t know what happened, but it seems like it was alcohol-related. We’ve seen players and coaches come back from that and be winners again.

Yes, ideally Lindgren challenges Pastrnak but knowing the Bruins Pastrnak declines and continues to cheap shot.

Trouba could end it with a devastating open-ice hit.

I don't want to speculation but the way he talked little about it and the wording, does anyone think its depression, mental health or substance abuse? Or maybe a family issue?
You dont go away for just a few days if it’s substance abuse, or mental health. That’s not like two sessions and you’re fixed. It’s much more likely a family issue weighing on him. Not that it’s even any of my business.
