He’s going to cost too much. Too many teams in on him. Don’t see why we would want to bench Schneider either. Let him keep developing, there will be ups and downs. One wonders if NYR are in on Ethan Bear. Seems like he would fit our system. Drury might be reluctant to bench Schneider however.
I don't think it's that out of pocket.
Aging stars tend to come here. We're seen as a contending team. If the Penguins go belly up, I don't see Sid sitting around and watching it.
Bigger rivals than the Rangers and the Penguins have made trades.I log off for 3 days and now we're trading for Crosby? Makes sense to me
Nothing would surprise me less, in fact its the most likely outcome eventually. NHL Stars want to play here before their careers end. It would be unprecedented because we have such a history with him and the Penguins. Ive always thought we should lean into that part of the franchises history more as a fanbase, but i digress.
All hypothetical and just good banter after a few off days, but if Crosby asks to be moved id put the percentages at:
30% rangers
25% Avs
15% Habs
15%Hawks (Bedard)
15% The Field
Crosby? I’d rather not win the cup than win with him on the squad. Good lord.
For what he is gonna cost + salary command moving forwardLooing forward, if the team decides to move on from Goodrow and Lindgren, I see space for a guy like Hanifan...

Why exactly are they trading a 21 year old that they just locked into $8x8? I mean, yeah, that would be awesome! Throw in Stutzle too!For what he is gonna cost + salary command moving forward
if doable
would prefer to overpay for Sanderson and lock in to him at [hair over] 8 per for long term prime
Even if he wasn't, can't imagine him wanting to come to New York for some reason (shocking, I know). If there would be some motivation, I think it would be to play with either MacKinnon or McDavid. Or MarchandCrosby will be a life long Pen. Next
lameCrosby? I’d rather not win the cup than win with him on the squad. Good lord.
Look, there’s a 0% chance Crosby will ever wear a NYR jersey, so this discussion is idiotic to begin with any a total waste of time. Enjoy your Sid the Skidmark wet dream though.lame![]()
IF you were correct [your position was accurate] then yes.Why exactly are they trading a 21 year old that they just locked into $8x8? I mean, yeah, that would be awesome! Throw in Stutzle too!
It's fine to covet other players, but it's pointless to keep bringing them up over and over again when they are nigh untouchable.
I understand its 0% but saying youd pass up a cup is moronicLook, there’s a 0% chance Crosby will ever wear a NYR jersey, so this discussion is idiotic to begin with any a total waste of time. Enjoy your Sid the Skidmark wet dream though.
I'll never understand paying a guy 8M+ out of an ELC who isn't a top 20 player. Burn your leverage for. Uh. Good feelings? If you suck they're gonna demand a trade regardless.Sanderson is good but he isn't "blow up your roster to satisfy overpayment" good.
Gonna cost more than that assuming double retention. Probably talking *multiple* sevenths. Luckily the rangers have quite a few surplus sevenths.Isles get Robert Bortuzzo for a 7th.
Pulock on IR
We need our 7th for Sid.
Arthur Steple reported over the summer that Drury is not a big Buchnevich fan. That trade is not happening. Judging by the return on the trade, Drury didn't think very much of Buchnevich who is playing more LW than RW in St. Louis.Interesting if anyone has pondered if Drury could/should try to pry Buch back? 5.800 for another year, but there's a cap increase and we have probably some bottom guys contracts expiring.
I remain unclear about what is not to like about a skilled two way forward with size and offense.Arthur Steple reported over the summer that Drury is not a big Buchnevich fan. It’s personal. Buch didn’t like Drury’s pizza when he was in Hartford. That hurt.I remain unclear about what is not to like about a skilled two way forward with size and offense.
