Kane and Kessel are UFA options. They can give one of the rookies in Hartford a shot. Zucker, Duclair, Hoffman, or Carrick are all potential bargain bin additions.

Not gona touch this one. Don’t want to be scrutinized calling for the obvious move to make here if Kakko is out longterm, which it did not look good tonight. I absolutely do not think the play is to call Othmann up. Do not rush him. Let him continue to grow and develop. Same goes for guys like Berard, Sykora, etc.

Sucks about Kakko. Hopefully its not major damage to his knee/leg & hopefully he could be back in the playoffs as extra depth.

It will be very interesting to see how they navigate this. Wonder if other gets a look for a bit but imagine they will move Goodrow up and try to use a low impact player on the 4th line for a bit. Just REALLY hope no one is stupid enough to rush chytil back if kakko is out long term.

Guys need to let the Kane thing die.

Its not happening. It wasn't a cap space decision because if it were that easy they could have made room if they really wanted to.

When you watch him play at some point this year, you'll be glad that the people running the team were smarter than you are.

If they wanted Kane at min they could have done it over the summer and locked him up.

Ain't happenin, captain.

Brodzinski has chemistry with Cuylle from Hartford last year. That’s a possibility. So is Belzile who was signed for just this reason as well.
No thanks....Brodzinski is an AHL player, a good one, but it doesn't translate to the nhl, we've seen this movie too many times now. Gimme Berard

The Kane thing needs to stop. Bring up one of the kids, hey maybe they break out. I prefer that option over a 36 yo guy who just had major hip surgery.

Saying nothing about Kane but the kids aren't even scoring much in top line/PP roles in the AHL. How exactly are they going to break out in the NHL at their age in a 3rd line/PP2 role at best? They're not ready.

Let's assumed Kakko is on LTIR until the end of the season. That allows the Rangers to spend his cap hit as a replacement but not add anyone at the deadline as they stop accruing cap space, correct? With that said, who would be available that ymakes a similar cap hit that could help replace?

Corey Perry (with Chicago retaining) is probably best available fit, especially if they need to get him out of there. Would be very fun on a line with Cuylle.

Yamamoto if Seattle waives the white flag, but don’t think he is a great fit here.

The (meh) San Jose guys maybe Duclair?

Depends what you are looking for though.
