Uncle Leo would be a good add to the bottom 6 and provides a sparkplug that can actually play hockey at a good level.

Pretty reasonable place for the line.

But yeah, he's an effective player and he's hard to play against, I'd love to have him.

Management's probably waiting to see if someone hits waivers to avoid spending assets.

The Leafs have 17 forwards...two of those are on LTIR in Lupul and Horton. There are going to be players waived.

What would Leo cost? Holden?

We no longer have the luxury of trading Holden. At least not until we see what we've got in Ryan Graves who by all accounts has same issues mcilrath has in his pivots.

Bereglazov should have just scared everyone straight. Need to hang on to Holden for now.

No thanks, he'll be paired with Staal

Bereglazov struggling has no impact on whether DeAngelo plays into the top 6 on opening night- which also would see Holden out of the starting lineup.

Graves is nothing like McIlrath. He skates well for a player his size. No reason to hold onto Holden. Whether you are right about Bereglazov or not, we also have DeAngelo, Graves, Pionk, tons of depth, these guys are going to need a chance. It'll either come from Staal or Holden leaving, one makes a lot more than the other, so the decision is made for itself.

Not really. Holden is still redundant. Now if both DeAngelo and Pionk crap the bed, too, then Holden becomes important. But, until that happens, Holden is still the 7th Dman.

There'd need to be a very impressive amount of bed-******** to make Holden necessary.

And I say that as someone who likes Holden.

I didn't even mention DeAngelo because he's playing in the top 6

But Holden is a much better 7 than beregoodbyeoff. We have zero use for a player like that when we already have staal

I wouldn't be surprised if the Holden situation plays out the same way as Rozival...let ADA/Pionk/Graves continue their auditions into the reg season in the AHL, and if one pulls away and wins out, Holden is traded by Thanksgiving.

Think some are missing my point. We need Holden as the 7th. Not as a starter. I 100 percent have De Angelo making team playing 3rd right d and power play 2. Nothing from last season would give any reason to believe he can't be an everyday nhler.

I'd be more than comfortable with Kampfer as the #7 while our prospects develop in the minors.

If we can improve the depth at forward for Holden I still have no reservations about it.
