Bringing in young players for bottom six roles has been kind of cursed here, I guess there's always a certain amount of turnover and failure rate when you're talking about the bottom of the roster but it would have been cool to get a long term roster piece or two out of Lemieux, Andersson, Blais, Gauthier and Stanley Cup Champion Brett Howden.

There's still hope; Cullye, Edstrom, and some of the other mid-late round picks. If the Rangers pursue Jay O'Brien. Even Othmann can start in a bottom six role and work his way up after getting comfortable.

are we gonna make a 5th line to play them on?

Never know what our injury status could be then. All it would take is for one guy to go down. Say Chytil or Trochek get hurt, ive seen worst lines than
Kreider Zib Kakko
Panarin 2c Wheeler
Laf Toews Kane

Just Kane please. I would rather get someone else at the deadline who plays with more speed than Toews as depth and insurance.

I have Kane signing with us in November and then going on LTIR

considering how utterly disappointing his run with teh Rangers was I don't see why people keep thinking he's going to sign here again or why Drury would want to sign him

He was hurt, he liked it here, he's not gonna play a full season so why not load up on points with a good team and get a contract the following year, he could fit into our cap as a cheap player with star qualities. All those reasons

•Fire Lav(?)
•Brendan Smith was fat
•Brendan Smith sucked
•Should have Re-Signed Brendan Smith
•Lafreniere didn’t train like Rocky
•Lafreniere needs to play on the Right
•Lafreniere needs PP time
•Lafreniere hasn’t earned PP time
•Lafreniere hasn’t signed bc the Rangers don’t care
•Panarin needs to be traded
•Panarin shaved his head and popped a gun off
•Goaltending doesn’t matter
•Replace Shesterkin with Joey Tits and we’ll win
•Kreider stopped jumping out of pools
•Goodrow’s overpaid by 12M
•The team has no speed
•We don’t have the right personnel
•Othmann will save us!
•Othmann can’t skate
Without Zubov on D we can’t win
•Bolding a Post makes it indisputable!

Great off-season we’re having. I think the board has collectively taken like, 3 steps back.

Nobody can take anywhere near $11.6m nor is there any good reason they should want to. Maybe Arizona just for the shits but Panarin has a NMC and won't go to Arizona.

There would almost certainly be retention and a contract coming back. We would be extremely lucky just to clear half of it.
Clearing half and adding the truculence of Cuylee and Othmann along with elevating Lafreniere into the PP and 1-2 line position would make us a harder club to play against without sacrifing much offense . Giving 3 young guys more ice gives the club a shot of energy rather than it being drained every time Panarin is out at even strength , If Othmann is not ready he can spotted with a career 4th liner for the time being .

The biggest net gain for the Rangers is that Lafreniere needs to be moved up . I honestly don't care what they do with our Anchor Artem ...keep him for 3rd line and PP duty if he can't be rid of . Just move Laf up and play the youth more......enough of the pleasing Anchor Artem !!!

yeah but there are no actual critics, just the people on this forum who make shit up in their own head. he definitely is not aware of it.

Steve Valiquette literally brought it up several times. People listen to that, and players should definitely be aware of what's being said by people like him (MSG Networks employees) even if it was on a podcast. I think it was the one Arthur Staple runs.

The Athletic beat writer and an MSG Networks TV analyst talking about this, is more than just "fans complaining on a forum".

Yeah, it was on the Athletic. It was somewhat speculative but there was definitely some smoke there.

We chose poorly.
Choosing an eventual 50 goal scorer was the right choice.

This issue was choosing to:
1. Not get a home discount from Buch.
2. Not thinking Kravstov was anything but shit for brains.
3. Get a plugger for skill - the latter is almost always more valuable.
4. Not getting a 1st in return.
5. Not getting young skilled talent back, preferably a C (see Zib trade).
6. Make room for KK, then inexplicably not allow him to stay there.

The biggest thing - our GM blinked. Big time. And worse, I’m not sure he learned from it.

I wish for hockey. Enough of these friggen off season fashion shows. We need line combos. Scapegoats after OT losses. Dreams of TDL acquisitions. And cheapshots from ferocious goons. Dog days be done!

I wouldn't agree with that. I would say that he return lacked what was needed. Although as we see, moving money can be very hard in a time when the cap wasn't rising.

Meh i have never been a Kreider fan. He actually might be one of my most disliked Rangers ever.

I always have felt that he takes too many games off and is just too streaky.

His net front presence and pk has been good especially under Gallant. But he just always leaves me wanting more.

I also feel like he is part of the country club atmosphere.
