The environment that lends toward communal thinking and almost a sort of peer pressure does a lot more for it imo

Seldom do any professors do any of that stuff in my experience. But, I definitely have seen a rare professor or so be more than willing to impart their worldview, and when outspoken classmates align themselves with that it can make for some awfully interesting classes when things get sidetracked. I saw it more in grad school than undergrad.
Also -and this is just from my experience- what I do is, I state facts. I actively try to not have opinions in front of the room.

There are some facts that people just don't like and they think these facts are opinions. I'm not going into details because that gets me into trouble. You can ask me or you can use your imagination.

Since the original publishing of this story, multiple sources confirmed to Blueshirt Banter one incident that involved DeAngelo keeping the puck from Miller’s first NHL goal scored against the Buffalo Sabres on January 26. DeAngelo, who was on the ice for Miller’s goal, collected the puck from the net as shown in the gif below.

Report: DeAngelo, Georgiev Allegedly had ‘Altercation’ Following Loss vs Pittsburgh
Holy shit, give me a break. DeAngelo isn't and didn't keep Millers 1st goal puck away from him. This is really getting stupid now that anyone would even for a SECOND think this garbage was true

The number of could and rather and perhaps and wonder in this makes this sound like you're trying to sell a script for a movie

Yeah, the TDA/Miller angle is a joke and the number of brain cells on the kids spreading that stuff isn’t high.

Anyone playing team sports knows that teammates sometimes can’t stand each other, or that stuff can get out of hand.

I think this should be seen as what it is, a huge failure by the organization.

I’m sorry, what?! He kept K’Andre’s puck? Even if it’s just a hazing thing and not a race thing, read the f***ing room you idiot. None of this is remotely surprising, but if this is true it’s f***ing gross.

You give us too much credit. There's barely enough time in the day to cover the bare minimum of what I have to cover. If I had enough time to include some f***ing scheme about imparting my worldview, I'd spend that time remembering to eat.
It doesn’t take hours to subtly imply what your beliefs are, and how students should follow them. You are 1 professor. I get that YOU don’t do that, but others definitely do. And I have 6 years of experience to back up my claims.

Listen, do I think it actually happened? Probably not. But if it did turn out to be true, would anyone genuinely be surprised?

I can also see Pavel Buchnevich laughing hysterically while jarring and preserving dead furry animals from central park and saying "It makes me happy and I'm Captain Happy" but I'm not gonna write an article about it on my blog

people actually believe this drivel?

edit - people actually do believe it... WOW.. the state of the world in 2021.

Here's the thing. There are locker room/practice scuffles ALL the time in hockey. Often times they are actually really healthy for a team. Guys showing fire and competitiveness and keeping each other honest can be a very good thing. See Henrik and Messier as examples. The issues management have with ADA are likely about something more - whether real or perceived. My guess is that it's more about maturity and causing distractions than about actual political views or similar.

I will say, if Tony is bringing up politics at all in the locker room, management wouldn't be angry about the actual viewpoints, they would be angry if it's causing distractions. This team is young, their confidence is fragile, they need everyone over 23 to be a leader in that room. Connective tissue. Plain and simple. And if anyone, Tony or Panarin or Trouba was bringing energy that had negative impact on the team and cohesion, it's an issue management may feel the need to address.

Wouldnt be surprised.

And also wouldnt think it is some massive problem he was messing with a rookie, so long as he eventually gave the puck to him.

But lets have some common sense here...you (not you personally) think he grabbed the puck and what, put it in his glove the rest of the night? He didnt hand it to the Trainers like they always do to get it labeled? Oh he did, and the Trainers labeled it and then snuck it back to DeAngelo?

I mean cmon...

Tony has been smart enough to mostly watch himself on twitter from the bare-faced stuff but his family, not so much. I'm not gonna post it here, but anyone can feel free to PM me.

And he was definitely suspended in juniors for using homophobic slurs. I have a hard time believing he would never be racist.

There isn't evidence that anything specifically happened with K'Andre but I don't get how people are astounded that this is coming up.

No other Ranger in my lifetime has been accused of it in this way. Do you think everyone is just out to get this guy?
I’m pretty sure lots of people have racist family members. That isn’t evidence, but I get it. But still, it would surprise me if he was because of the three things I listed above.

To all the Zibby bashers, I think he's still recovering from the covid. Look what happened to Zeke Elliott. Some people just get hammered by it. Zibby looks winded out there. It sucks but it's quite possible that his bout with Covid cost him a productive season and it's just something that's going to linger all year like a bum hammy. If your lungs aren't at 100%, it doesn't matter how much work you're putting in, the oxygen still isn't pumping through the blood as well. That hurts in a high cardio sport. No amount of off season physical preparation can prevent you from experiencing the bad impact of a serious lung disease
