So who would be an example of a player offered that they’d take 1 for 1 that a team would legitimately give up? Asking seriously, because I’m racking my brain and can’t think of a Jones of Johansson type deal out there.
I don’t know the answer. There are players I would ask for and players I wouldn’t trade. I would have never traded Seth Jones. Maybe we are surprised at who they would accept.

I’m just passing along what I heard.

As they say on TV...stay tuned.

Top health service is so important when you need it.

Just two month ago we discovered that my oldest son (12 y/o) had skeleton cancer (osteosarcoma) in the hip. He plays a lot of sports and trains way too much for his very lanky growing body, we thought for sure that it was muscle related. But something wasn’t quite right, it wasn’t the front or back of the thigh, he was hurting just laying still. The feeling when we started to see stuff like ‘Very strong suspicion for malignant discovery’ in his digital journal...

But now when he is in treatment it feels much better. Everything is state of the art, they shy from no expenses of course in pediatric cancer treatment. The treatment is unimaginably tough. Infections everywhere due to cell poison killing the immune system, constant horrible blisters in the mouth, fevers and so much pain. But they should fix it. It’s not 90% but it’s at least more than 50%. 30 years ago the odds would have been a lot lower.

f***, I’m so sorry, man. Glad to hear he’s getting such good care. My best wishes to him for a speedy recovery.

Wrong answer. The question is what player would they take 1-1. They don’t have to make a trade tomorrow. Jarmo will get what he wants or wait. And wait until he is good and ready to visit the buffet table. That’s how he got Seth Jones.

Johansen didn't have a public trade demand and an all but openly stated unwillingness to sign a long term deal.

Edit - but I don't doubt for a second that their preference is a 1 for 1 and they may very well get it. Will they get it from a team with the cap space, roster, and overall situation that would entice PLD to sign long term? We shall see.

After seeing ADA mentioned with a pretty substantial add - how about Fox? Fox and Strome for PLD?

The f***? No way in hell. I’d trade Kakko before Fox.
Honestly, Kakko for PLD in a one-for-one trade is probably more close to reality than any other trade...

...and I'd still do it. Probably the top-end of trades I'd do for PLD, but yeah I'd still do it.

Id prefer something where money went out too, i think we need to keep our cheap high-end players in Kakko and Lafreniere. If the deal is Strome, Lundkvist or Deangelo, and Kravtsov or a 1st rounder i could get behind it.

I mean, obviously money will play into it, and ofc I'd want different players to move out in a PLD trade. Still early in Kakko's tenure and development arc.

I just think something akin to a package or one-for-one based around Kakko/PLD is more closer to reality for a trade, and I probably wouldn't blink at it. At most, I'd grumble for an hour, tops.
