No. The Ray and Dregs podcast is probably the most similar to the Bobcast out there, but it's not as good to me.
Hated that one too. Was that the one where they keep talking about throat punching? Couldn’t even make it through an episode

This is purely what-if, but which scenario is better?

A. Trading a 1st rounder and Pionk for a 25 year-old Jacob Trouba and signing him to that huge contract, ending when he’s around 33

B. Keeping those assets and instead banking on a 50% chance of signing Pietrangelo (and I think that’s being generous because 9 times out of 10, if the Rangers have the cap space and want a FA, they’re getting them) to about the same huge contract as Trouba, taking him to around 37

I know I can’t go back in time, but I’m really curious about this for some reason, and my hockey knowledge isn’t high enough to make a judgment here. Would B have been the better option if we knew he was 100% going to sign with us? Or would we possibly be better off without doing either of those things? I think that the age factor tips the scale in factor of option A, but giving up that 1st rounder and Pionk tips it back to option B. I guess it ultimately depends on whether or not Pietrangelo can continue to play at a high level into his late 30s.

a 1st + Pionk is peanuts for someone with Trouba’s pedigree. We got almost as much for Skjei and Skjei sucks.

Yup. He also wouldn't have said "we." And if it was some scheduled thing the Rangers had informed him of, like a press conference, all the other guys who cover the team would've tweeted about it as well.

Yeah it was clear as hell that Vince was talking about something personal.

A. He isn't scooping the big guys and B. He would NEVER sit on something like this if he got the info first.

Without Trouba we likely don't get 1st overall.

I hope you’re right, but I hear from Jets fans that he’s been good this season. And (especially if you take the contracts into account) many of them prefer him over Trouba.

A right side of Fox, DeAngelo and Pionk last year....shudders...
I mean, the only change is that Trouba is in for Pionk, and although Pionk sucked for us last year, he’s doing very well in Winnipeg according to Jets fans. So maybe if we kept him, we wouldn’t be much worse. Or maybe it’s our system that’s the issue.

Pions is still awful. He just got a bunch of points on their stacked power play.

And that you no longer have Fox and DeAngelo being sheltered for most of the season. Do you remember Pionk and Staal as a defensive pairing?

Too many if buts and maybes, can't skip out on acquiring a guy you think will help you both now and in the future just for the chance a superior player might choose you. We got good value for Trouba and he fills a large role for us.

He didn’t just magically become good over one summer. They stuck him on a PP with Scheifele/Wheeler/Laine/Ehlers/Connor. Spoiler: he picked up assists.

If Laf is half as good as Mahomes I'll get his face tattooed on my body
I don’t watch football at all. I know next to nothing about it. Is Mahomes the greatest football player of all time or something? Is he the Michael Jordan or Wayne Gretzky of football, or not as good, or better?
