He didn’t just magically become good over one summer. They stuck him on a PP with Scheifele/Wheeler/Laine/Ehlers/Connor. Spoiler: he picked up assists.

I read an article where the analytics say that he’s been better than Trouba, even when it comes to 5v5 play. I hope I’m wrong and that maybe I misread the analytics. I don’t know.

I haven't gotta a sense of hesitation related to that, but I definitely think they want to maximize value and don't have any intention to trade him for, say, a third round pick.

I think the general feeling is that Shesterkin has literally done everything you could ask a kid to do up to this point.

As for Turris, he didn't come up at all.

Damn, at only 25 years old? I mean, I think that’s around the age when players enter their prime (at least in hockey), but has he been at or around the same level for a while now?

He was last season, Trouba had a bad season. Need to hope he rebounds to what he was with Winnipeg.

Towards the end of the season, yes. But, Lindgren started the year in Hartford.

Maybe Trouba is the one who needs to be sheltered.

I mean I don’t think he’s someone we’d be actively looking to move but I could see us using him as a sweetener

Personally I'm not a huge fan but since the Rangers both have a depth problem on the current roster and (imo) a problem developing bottom six players, I don't see much of a point in trading him for a similarly valuable player in a different role or a draft pick or anything like that. If there's some huge trade and the other team says "we need Brendan Lemieux" instead of a bigger piece then sure, I guess they'd ship him out.

Let's put it this way: he does things I previously didn't think football players could or should do.

At the very least, he's a Crosby or Overchkin type of player, if not better. We'll see where the rest of his career goes.

I’d say he’s kind of in between that atm. IMO he can be a 25-30 point guy in the right role. And he’s definitely gritty, I think psychotic is a better description lol.

For the record I’ve been an Armia fan since he was drafted, not sure how the rest of the board would feel about a move like that.

I see , Armia can really do a 30 point season and his size makes him a really good puck protector but his only problem is that he doesnt use his big size at all. It's my only complain about him.

I’m keeping Lemieux. He’s not costing us much and he fills a much needed bottom 6 energy/willing to give up his body position. We don’t need him to be anything more than that. Chip in 10-15 goals and provide energy and he can easily do that.
