Pretty much sums up my thoughts on Zadorov.

I've got the simple things, I've got the rain in spring, spicy chicken wings, French fried onion rings

Didn't realize Lindholm struggled in the playoffs. Makes sense but I would think trading Gaudreau would be more in line of the shake up they're looking for. I'll glady take Lindholm off their hands.
I don't think he struggled necessarily as much as his line didn't step up.

I do agree that Gaudreau is their prime candidate to trade but we can only speculate as to how extensive their shake up goes.

Call me crazy but I think Gaudreau ends up in Jersey and Palmieri checks all the boxes. NJ has all that draft capital and depth pieces to balance the trade out. But they don't have the help on RD where the Flames have a glaring hole. And if the Flames target ADA (or Dumba), they have to step up with a good offer.

Russo speculating that Greenway is likely to be dangled by Minnesota. Brooks named him specifically back in January as a guy the Rangers might be after:

Jordan Greenway has been toiling on the fourth line in Minnesota, and you had better believe the Rangers will be inquiring what it would take to acquire the 22-year-old, 6-foot-6 winger who thrived playing for David Quinn at Boston University.

Seems like exactly the kind of guy the team would be looking for if they want to get harder to play against. Greenway isn't a finished product by any stretch but he's excellent in the corners and uses his body effectively.

If Gauthier is a possibility to be traded then I dont understand the trade for him. ADA potentially getting moved would have opened up a spot for Keane to come in this season and do his best in a 3RD role and boost his value further by proving he is NHL material. Instead we moved him (in a very fair deal) for a talented winger that played for us a few months and we’re gonna trade him because of an asset we got for free. It’s a strange part of the business for me.

Dominos... But seriously just points out to the fact that ADA is not being moved, at least not this offseason.

I like the idea of Greenway, but where does he slot on this team and how do we protect him from Seattle (he's not exempt)?

I proposed a trade on the main board. I think something around Georgiev for Greenway makes a lot of sense for both organizations. If the Wild are looking for a sandpaper replacement, I would easily put Lemieux in a 2-for-2 trade because I think Greenway's ceiling is more complementary middle-six forward, as opposed to Lemieux who is a pesky, but effective bottom-six forward. That gives us a definitive upgrade.

Greenway would honestly be a really nice linemate for Chytil. Put Gauthier, Buch, Fast (if he comes back at a discount) or Kravtsov (if the front office feels like they can rely on him for that third line spot) on the other wing, and that is a really nice third line.

Greenway played for Quinn, he knows him well

Get it done

Greenway and Kunin to NYR for Strome and Andersson??

I don’t even know what this means and I agree with it. Boring Sean Monahan.
It means he is not good defensively is what @bobbop is saying. Unless he is talking about his hockey IQ somehow.

Also @Trxjw I am all in on Greenway too. He is on my list of guys I would target this offseason.

Elias Lindholm
Josh Anderson
Jordan Greenway
Kevin Labanc
Brendan Dillon
Vince Dunn
Christian Dvorak
Brian Boyle
Kyle Clifford
Joakim Nordstrom
Sean Kuraly
Yanne Gourde
Mikael Granlund

Really looking at the Middle 6 C position downward to filling out the bottom 6. Some of the above may not be available. Some are more realistic than others. But that would be my list.

I am really interested to see what Nashville’s next steps are. Would they retain on someone?

Hard pass on the bolded. Some combo of the others would be nice though.

OK guys, was trying to have a little fun. Sean Monahan has a well earned reputation as a player who only makes a passing effort at playing any defense. He loves to fly the zone. Not a guy who battles for every inch of the ice.

I would guess he always had so much talent he could dominate at every level without a full committment to the game.

Melt the ice and one end and he won't notice is one of the first criticisms i ever learned in hockey. My first mentor (former Ranger defenseman Ron Ingram) loved to snarl that at players. Play 200 feet or grab some bench (or pack your bags)

It's not just that Quinn knows him well, Greenway basically considers him a father.

Their relationship is very, very close. For Lias and/or Hajek I'm all over this one. He's got loads of potential and a high floor.

Lots up in the air at this point to try to project the expansion draft, but I wouldn't let it stop me from making a forward addition.

On defense, it seems pretty set, You have DeAngelo, Trouba, Lindgren. Possibly not DeAngelo and an addition in his place.

For forwards, you have Panarin, Zibanejad, Kreider, Chytil. Maybe Buchnevich by the end of next season. Possibly Strome. Then you have a grouping of forwards (Andersson, Gauthier, Howden). You're probably going to lose one from this group. I'm not going to be super selective with forward additions to make direct which one it is.

But they switch sides after the period.

If the ice was melted in one end how would he make line changes in the first and third period?

Fair enough.

I am a big fan of Labanc and Dillon. But all of the bolded are Option B’s and C’s if the others arent available or cannot be had. I dont see Gorton and JD standing pat and doing minimal work to this roster construction for next season. I think they will try to add pieces to weak areas of it.

And I am only interested in Grandlund if its a short term bargain deal due to the economic environment we are experiencing from COVID.
