Buying out Hank only saves 3 million on the cap next year I believe.
I guess I was assuming Staal is bought out and Hank retires/is bought out
You can play whatever two goaltenders you want without buying anyone out. Buyouts are for cap relief. That's right. In Hank's case I believe it would be more about having the Shesty/Georgy tandem, than cap-space really.
It would piss me off so bad. Specially if we really buy-out Hank. The reason behind any Rangers buy-out should be to re-sign ADA.
He's a playoff performer. God knows we need some of those. He shouldn't be a center piece but it could help the bottom6Is z
Is Sam Bennett even a 3rd-liner?

Call me crazy, but I’d prefer a trade for Zadorov over a trade for Dunn.

Me too but I can see it. I'm starting to come around on the idea that the organization might worry about him being a distraction. Maximize his value now and let someone else take the risk of signing him to a long term deal.
Personally, I'd rather keep him because we need him and he will be hard to replace. But I'm not going to be surprised at this point. If you do trade him, you can't f*** up the trade though and that does worry me.
Yah. Agree. Zero desire to have Zadorov on this team. You're crazy.
Zadorov sucks at everything that isn't hitting.

No thanks on Monohan. You could melt the ice at one end and he wouldn't notice. If the Rangers want to move ADA and likely Buch then why not focus on Monahan?
Not sure if Zibby will break the bank with the Rangers in a few years though.

Colorado is supposed to be all in next season. Why would they move Zadorov?

If they're drafted by any team other than the Rangers, yes.Can anyone who has been watching these kids speak to whether Lundell or Guhle could step in and take NHL minutes next season?
Am pretty much resigned to his. With the caveat that I think that they may take a stop gap like Dillon if the financials work. This also might mean another year of Smith + Staal at LD.
If we don't win the lottery and get Kakko then I think Kravstov starts for us last season. There was no way Kakko was getting sent down with all of the hype and there was no reason to give VK 4th line minutes.Maybe if Kravstov came in and won out a spot in camp, he would have played. Or if he went to Hartford and knocked the door down the way Chytil and Lindgren did, he would have played. But there was NOTHING that pointed to him deserving of any cup of coffee.

Didn't realize Lindholm struggled in the playoffs. Makes sense but I would think trading Gaudreau would be more in line of the shake up they're looking for. I'll glady take Lindholm off their hands. The premise is Calgary is looking for a shake up after another disappointing post season. Their media speculation, not this board. They feel like Monahan, Gaudreau and Lindholm are very good in season players. Calgary is looking for post season performers, however.
What makes you think this? You're crazy.

That's what I would like unless someone offers something great. We know him and Panarin will be successful together. Then that gives Fil another year to get better, last year of Strome's contract he gets bumped down to 3rd and Chytil moves up and now we have a pretty good 3C and a deep lineup.I know it’s not the sexy thing to do but I think the best course of action might be just keep Strome who played well w Panarin on a 1-2 year deal and see if anything else shakes out from teams w financial difficulties over the next year or so.
Sure if you get an amazing offer for Strome or can close on a better long term target, go for it.
