Can confirm 9 > 7.If you have 10 good forwards on the team and you lose one you will still have 9. If you have 7 and protect them all you still have 7.

If we have 10 good forwards we can also offer Seattle compensation to not take someone. That's how Vegas stocked up.
I'd do that.
(Hopefully, then followed by a trade for a trade for Lindholm.)
I'd probably do that if we had another option lined up for 2C.
we'd need another deal lined up for a 2C first
I'd do that.

Seems we're all on the same page.
I kinda see this offseason as dominos. If one move happens, it'll trigger others.
"What if instead of you taking one bad player, we give you two good players?"vegas stocked up cause it was stupid and most of the teams that did it ended up losing more than if they had just sat back and let them take a player
I am big on Dillon. Been pumping his tires since before the Return To Play as a target for the offseason. I dont think he would require a long term deal. 3 years at a reasonable salary to add a defensive minded tough in your face type player. Similar to Lindgren to balance out the D. And if for some reason during year 2 or 3 of that contract we see a push from 1-2 of our young LD then he has a movable salary.Brendan Dillon if we could get him for the right price is the first Defense I would look at for the left side.
With Edmundson getting $3.5M x 4, I can't see Dillon signing for a deal I'd accept. Especially considering he'd probably see the writing on the wall that he'd be exposed in the expansion draft.I am big on Dillon. IF the Rangers could sell Smith on a cap floor team freeing up cap space for us, then I would be ok with Dillon at $3.5 AAV. Also ok with it being 4 years. Some players are going to have to compromise and risk signing a deal as a free agent only to be exposed in a year for the expansion draftWith Edmundson getting $3.5M x 4, I can't see Dillon signing for a deal I'd accept. Yeah, but I think he'll be beyond that mark.IF the Rangers could sell Smith on a cap floor team freeing up cap space for us, then I would be ok with Dillon at $3.5 AAV. Also ok with it being 4 years. Russo speculating that Greenway is likely to be dangled by Minnesota. Brooks named him specifically back in January as a guy the Rangers might be after:

Seems like exactly the kind of guy the team would be looking for if they want to get harder to play against. Greenway isn't a finished product by any stretch but he's excellent in the corners and uses his body effectively.
If Calgary wants to dump him already I would be a little weary. This will be the second team that deals him. Not only that with losing Brodie and maybe Hamonic you would think they want to keep what they have intact. Something rotten in Denmark or albertaChris Johnston was on Sportsnet 960 saying Hanafin's name is out there. Starts at 7 min here: Chris Johnston: Staal dealt to Buffalo, Flames' offseason and Coyotes hire Bill Armstrong to be their GM - Sportsnet.ca

It’s Prairie Fire Time in Alberta now, to be fair.We can't have Lindholm. Flames fans have decided we can't, so we best stop talking about it.
Seriously, they've started demanding Kakko or Zibanejad.![]()
Add that Pietrangelo may be free agent. Glut of RHD.Dumba being on the block means we lose value on Tony in a potential trade this offseason. I think they're gonna bridge him anyways.
Gotta say, that makes a lot of sense.OK, here’s a little nugget I picked up today. If Tampa runs the table and wins the Cup, the solution to some of their cap woes may be looking to move Stamkos. Wow. I couldn’t make that up if I tried.
I agree with @TheBloodyNine it makes sense and I am really not at all surprised. Its something that crossed my mind a few games ago in this series when it was 2-0 Lightning. They are showing they can win without him. They can move him and be able to keep multiple players with that savings.OK, here’s a little nugget I picked up today.
