I suppose if NYR traded Strome they might be able to take back Stastny for his final year. Not recommending that course of action but it's one possibility.

You pull off Tuch and Krebs for ADA and you can definitely make Stastny work for this year. Not only Strome but it makes Buch expendable if you need to get some more cap there.

Possible but that seems to really add a lot of complexity to the deal. Would think moving Stastny at face value looks like a cap clearing move but also sort of forces them to keep Glass as he's closer to being ready for NHL minutes than Krebs.

Not sure if this was mentioned but last night Friedman said since Buffalo already paid Eichel’s signing bonus, he’s certainly not being traded this year. He also said this basically puts Buffalo on notice regarding Eichel. Too much smoke now for going on a pretty good while.

Blue Jackets don't have the assets, can't afford it after going all in that one year. Hurricanes don't have the need or financial wherewithal. Flyers have cap issues. Red Wings are a rebuilding team and are not going to expend the assets. Bruins don't have the assets and he's not being traded in division. Kings could but center isn't a need for them at all and also still rebuilding. Avs could. So I just whittled that down to 2-3, including us. That's not very many.

I think Hurricanes would love a US born elite center. Would be OK from a marketing view. And they have pieces that Buffalo would really like. Pesce and Necas would be a great starting point for a trade.

Jackets have Jones. A player they might be worried that they can not resign in two years time. A team like Buffalo would love him, even for 18 months and trade him if they cant resign him. (Remember, Buffalo will not go into a rebuild. If they trade Eichel, it will be for pieces they think could improve their team overall.) And with other assets like Anderson and Merklins etc. they should definitely be able to put up a good offer.

Depending on who the other guys in the deal were it could be McNabb, Holden or Martinez. I don't think you could get McNabb if Tuch is in the deal.

I personally don't see a package that includes both Glass and Tuch (sounds like 80's police detective comedy). Glass and McNabb sounds more realistic.

If the Jackets couldn't re-sign Jones what makes you think that Buffalo is going to?
Canes don't have the finances.

Besides the flying reverse elbow he took from Lemieux, he got hurt again?

From what I've read:

In January 2019, Glass suffered a sprained LCL, swelling on MCL & bruising on bone. He sustained a concussion from Lemieux in December; a bone bruise on his leg in January after he collided with Bouwmeester, and season-ending knee surgery in March.

Great player, but the recent injury history is concerning

Would theodore be a possibility with one of glass / krebs? Or would it just be one of those two?

You think ADA is worth Theodore AND Glass/Krebs? I think that's a bit unrealistic.

I keep repeating this, but Theodore is not going anywhere. He is Vegas most irreplaceable player & his value is much higher than ADAs.

Who is better out of Krebs and Glass?

Tough to define "better" here. They're both really good play making centers with good two-way ability, higher-end motors, and quality intangibles. There were doubts in his draft year about whether or not Krebs had the offensive potential to be a top-six center and he probably made some folks into believers with his D+1 season. Glass, on the other hand, had the higher offensive ceiling but has been plagued by injuries since being drafted.

A year ago it's Glass easily over Krebs for me. Now it's considerably closer.

How do you think Vegas views Stastny at this point? Is he at the "would love to free up the cap space" point yet?

So the necessary implication of these statements is that either Lundkvist is moved, or, DeAngelo is traded for not futures.

Pretty limited set of options.

If we can move DeAngelo for a guy like Glass right now I'd do it.... not sure why you wouldn't. Seems silly to me.... Glass is a "future," just like Lundell would be.
Limited or not, yes, I think that is the way that it goes.

I Like Glass, but the injuries scare me. And there is a difference between Glass and Lundell. Lundell may not even be in the NHL this year or next.

Yep, I'd rather have Krebs, too. I'd be fine with either Krebs or Glass though as a piece back for ADA.

I'm suggesting in a scenario where Buffalo decides it has to deal Eichel, a Chytil - ADA - 22OA - another pick/prospect (that isn't Lafreniere/Kakko/Kravtsov) would likely do the trick and make plenty of sense for the Rangers.
That would and frankly should probably do the trick. The question that follows is if this is the move that the franchise should be making.
