I like the idea of:

Kreider-Zibenejad-________
Panarin-Trochek-Lafreniere
Cuylle-Chytil-Kakko
Vesey-Goodrow-Pitlick

If that's what they like, then I can see where the deadline addition will be going. I'll just say that adding a 4LW should be the play and just promote Vesey as that Kreider-Zibanejad line does nothing at 5v5 anyways and it would be far less costly.

The only excuse for not splitting up Mika and CK and swapping Wheeler for Kakko (again/already) is if that is now the 3rd line as far as ice time and Cuylle/Fil/KK become the 2nd line. Bread/Tro/Laf is already the top line.

I can see possibly Cuylle working there
For sure it's possible but then who on LW for Chytil/Kakko line? Vesey? Goodrow (No please)? CK (the bromance will never be broken up)? Lafreniere (this board would erupt reuniting the kid line)?

I would definitely like to see Cuylle given that shot with Chytil and Kakko. Big, pretty skilled and natural LW.

Sign me up.
Trocheck line (dangerous in o zone and does it pretty much every game)
Very good 4th line. We saw what they could do when they were together.
Chytil line could be a very good mix and possibly get Kakko to produce a bit more.
Maybe a cheap waterbug type RW for the Zib line? I have no idea man. That can't keep an offensive zone shift going no matter what.

—Arthur Kaliyev, who's shown a scoring ability in the NHL, is an interesting one to watch in L.A. The 22-year-old is having little luck gaining head coach Todd McLellan’s trust. I'm hearing there are a handful of teams interested including the Flames and the Senators, where his former junior GM with the Hamilton Bulldogs, Steve Staios, is now in charge.
—The goalie market is slow but that won’t stop the Marc-Andre Fleury trade talk. His remaining $3.5 million (U.S.) is still significant enough that the Wild are being asked to eat a good portion of his contract from the likes of Colorado and Carolina.
—The Montreal Canadiens on the other hand are having trouble convincing teams to trade for goaltender Jake Allen because of the $3.85 million owed to him next year. The Habs have no interest in eating any of that as of now.

It’s over he’s an rfa he’s not going to do it here. He’s had his chances. They aren’t going to pay him. Time for both sides to move on. Best way to help us is in a trade.

Kakko is not going to find success here in this organization. I think its pretty much over now. He'll be 23 yo in a few weeks, and has not taken the strides.
Fine. Don't trade Kakko for 20 cents on the dollar and he finds success somewhere else. Drury would be doing Kakko a favor finding him a new home.

Blake Wheelchair is trash but that line actually produced with him on it. They wont move Kakko until they see him play with Chytil and Cuylle on line 3. That line can be a weapon against bottom pair defenseman if the the wonder twins get their heads out of their asses and start performing like a top 6 line. Lindgren away from Fox is great, just need Miller and Trouba separated. Baby steps.

I fully expect Drury to add a Top 6 forward at the deadline.

It better be a big forward and not one of these former soft and one dimensional Rangers players.

Is it a player with term or another stupid rental?

I don't see a top 6 rental making a big difference.

I think moving Kakko is fine but it shouldn't be to try to get the other 2 f***wads on the top line to get going.

If he's moved it should be in a package for a defenseman, perhaps along with Lindgren.

Bonino out for personal reasons. Hopefully contemplating retirement.

Trocheck-Chytil-Mika-Goodrow down the middle (in that order) is legitimately good.

Who do you have in mind that fits that mold. I agree I think they need it.

Hopefully everything is okay on his end.

Centers look fine until you realize that Mika is probably going to continue to suck with Kreider and Goodrow just flat out sucks.

Yes, we're going to fit a top 6 forward with size and term under the cap.

Well if Mika wants to play like a defensive 3C, he can be one. And Goodrow has been good when hes hidden between Vesey and Pitlick, who can actually forecheck

What's infuriating with Mika is we know he's capable of playing a more effective game. Hate what his non contact/non wrist shot game degenerated into.

If they want to add a forward just go find another Vesey. Someone who can skate and disrupt plays. They don't need a 70 point Tarasenko although it would be nice. The price isn't worth the effect they would have on the lineup for where they are going to play
