It is. Just look at how much the devils feasted on Trouba last year. Or how Staal and Girardi got eaten alive in the playoffs as they aged.
Edmundson is probably worse than all of them.

Too big of risk IMO. Basically getting one more year of Gourde. Haven't watched much of Gourde this year but he has 7 goals!
I would ask how much Eberle would cost. I think Gourde is gonna be too expensive.

Gourde is not having a good season. All of the excuses are not what I want to hear when signing up for a 30+ undersized forward with another year at $5.1m cap hit next year.
Listen, I like Gourde the player but in what world is he worth all of that when he’s having his worst performance in years?
I’m not trading Berard at all at this deadline. Same goes for Othmann and Perrault. Hard no.
If Seattle wants to trade Gourde how many teams are singing up to trade a big package for him? Who can fit him and who needs him?

The “excuses” are backed by legitimate data and info though. Also please dont bring up the point of being “undersized”, that has not been a factor his whole career. He plays bigger than a majority of his peers. And finally the Rangers are only adding him with retention involved so you are not signing up for Gourde for $5.1 next year. Likely $3.5 or less.
Even with his “down” year, he is 10x the player currently filling the 3c role AINEC.

Maybe you add a prospect like BMB to close it up.
The Rangers have a good team. Adding Gourde/Eberle to the playoff 12 would make them a legitimate cup contender.

Don't know what the price is, but I'd take Roslovic. He has the talent, just has never unlocked it.

Drury had more important things to consider last summer with Lafrenire & Miller. Kane was never the priority.

He had more points than Zibs, Panarin, and Trochek.
If he really wanted to come here (And reports were saying that he did) we would have been better off waiting for him and not signing Wheeler.

Probably true. Just a huge gaffe not signing him this offseason.
As I page through this thread I see too many proposed solutions that a) eat up much more salary cap (this year and next year) that we have available and b) would take more assets out the door than we should be moving. If Perrault and Othmann are off limits (as they should be) we are not going to bring back many of the names showing up here.

You can probably do a quantity trade for one of them, but not both. Both they'd demand Perreault +.
Sykora is a dime a dozen guy. Berard is nice but most teams have a Berard in the system.
He's not good. They need centers like no ones business and aren't extending him, what's that tell you?

If he’s going to trade the first round pick and I’m sure he is going to, go get Hanifin, and fix this defense.
And who sits in the top 6. Id sit miller and Gustafsson to improve the d but that won’t happen

As much fun as it is to talk about forwards, the defense is a glaring issue that shouldn’t be ignored

It's all so tiresome
The only fix for the defense is revamping it and getting rid of Lindgren and Trouba. So forget about that. That’s an offseason decision.
