There will be ups and downs. The HDCA has been a constant though. Net front coverage has been atrocious. Getting caught deep has been even worse. Quick was playing out of his mind which helped. Gus looks like a 6/7 again.

I’m all for trying that top 6 though.

How the hell does Zib only have 96 shots? He is supposed to the the shooter/scorer on this team.

Good for laf for being top 4 in shots with limited PP time.

Because the only time Zib even attempts a shot is when he's loading up the one timer on the powerplay from a horrible angle and too far away.

outside of that he won't even consider shooting. Someone needs to slap him in the face with 12lb slab of pork belly and wake him the f*** up. He's a joke right now.

Or at the very least get him away from Kreider, put him with Laf and another kid and he'll start shooting I bet because he hates them and won't pass to them.

Zibs is way too focused on 'royal road'. "I must get the cross ice pass because the chances of scoring go up"

He forces it way too often. He has a great wrist shot. He's Panarin of old. He needs to model his game after current day Panarin. Zibs can beat goalies with his wrist shot but he refuses to try.

I also do not get why this team refuses the shot/pass off of goalies pads. It's a geometry royal road pass. The idea is getting the puck to the open guy cross ice. If the passing lane is not there, at least try to shoot for a rebound in that area.

Even if he's cleared, I would not do it.....Playoffs are notoriously more physical. I just feel he's better served taking the extra time....
 
Looks like it ain't Kakko or Pitlick. Maybe Edstrom comes back from injury? Then again, I could see last night's performance triggering a trade.

I don't think you can touch the Panarin/Tro/Laf line the way they've been playing.

I'd rather see a move for a rental like bringing back Tarasenko (Goodrow and a first? Please Ottawa?) to break things up.

Cuylle-Mika-Tarasenko
Kreider-Chytil/Brodz-Kakko/Othmann
Vesey-Bonino-Wheeler

(Brodz and Othmann just in those spots till Chytil/Kakko get healthy)

Zibanejad has never been a big time shooter, contrary to what you would think he should be. Guy thinks he’s more skilled than he is and passes up shots to force passes all the time.

Thank god we might actually see 20-93-50 in a game. Feel like this line is going to do exactly what'd you think.

By the end of the year Mika line will have seen every forward play on that line.
Having said that good for Cuylle. Effort wise one of the most consistent Rangers all year.
But is it really a promotion? :huh:
