The way Brodz is playing (pretty decent) especially with his two linemates they should absolutely give him right up until the TDL to continue seeing how that line performs.
I still think a decent RW for "line 1" is more important right now and have Vesey back on the 4th line so we can legit have 4 reliable lines.

I think he can get back to that level on a team that has a chance

Maybe, but it's not like Pittsburgh is completely devoid of talent.

He did a ton of great work for Vegas in the playoffs though. His line was the match up line and i like the idea of letting a top 9 line play that role rather than checking line Larry's wet dream of that job going to the 4th line with Goodrow on it. You figure he would have caught onto it this after they got smoked vs Colorado and then Mika drew the matchup and they were able to pull themselves back into the game.

people keep harping on KAM.... make it make sense...

He's earned it.

Hardly a perfect option in his current role or even a good one, but we could do so much worse.

Would be A-OK allowing him to slot into Goodrow's current spot ASAP.

What this SHOULD do is allow Drury to trade Goodrow with retention or buy him out and slide Brodzinski into that 4C spot for the next 2 years. Even if Drury retains $1m, that basically means the 4C spot is making ~$1.8m in total (Brodzinski + $1m in dead cap)

Tanev -- shoe on the other foot, would YOU take that?

Ed + Rem on D:
%-wise, you're right, it is a long shot
But there is no harm in experimenting, and again, what if shit happens in the POs? At least this would be some level of being prepared.
Probably, i mean the Flames are about to lose their 3rd dman this year so adding a young pp dman and a pick would be ok value.
As far as using those guys on d, they'll be 3 years adjusting to D at the NHL level so i dont think this helps at all.

Seemed like last night and recently Miller has been carrying the puck more up the ice. Coincidentally he has looked better and not been making as many egregious turnovers...

Not saying he can't pass the puck at all but he absolutely should be leaning into his strengths which are skating and carrying the puck out of the zone/up the ice rather than trying to hang back and make long, difficult passes all the way down the ice.

That line would perform better without him, he was awful yesterday yet the other two dragged him along. Cuylle and Kakko have something going, they just need a center.

Unless we are getting a Gourde or a Henrique (which looks like will require overpayment) not sure how much better there is out there.

yeah i think we've found our 3rd line for the playoffs. they defend well, forecheck well and can put the puck in the net. we just need to fix the Zibanejad line.
Unfortunately I'm not sure there's a way to fix that line. It's on Zibanejad and Kreider, but they are who they are at this point.

Brodz re-signs for 2 years. $787,500/year
That's nice, another vesebone.

Good for Brodz and it shows that the organization will get behind you even if it was originally an unceremonious signing. He's worked his ass off to be here.

One underrated thing that he will bring is that he knows the guys in the A. While all these guys are in training camp and possibly in off-season workouts, Brodz has been in the room leading that group of players. You don't think he hasn't had an impact on Cuylle or even someone like Jones?

I'm sure Edstrom and Rempe love having him around too. It's important to help these guys transition into NHL roles and you have a guy that was the vet that helped you at lower levels with you now. It's a great example for all of them that the hard work pays off.
