if we're looking for a 3C then we could do a lot worse than Wennberg, but i actually think RW is a bigger need and Eberle would be perfect.

Don’t really want Wennberg, but I guess he kinda fits in the middle of Cuylle and Kakko. He’s pretty damn good at zone entries, carrying the puck through the NZ. But the guy hates to shoot so he’d make us mad.

Why do I have this funny feeling the Rangers are gonna play Detroit in the playoffs and Kane is gonna score a heartbreaking goal in that series? You know god damn well that’s the Ranger way.

Trouba is a #3-4 being paid and played as a #2.

Rozsival situation again.

Low on my list of concerns for mid-season, though.

Trouba is like the 13th highest paid defenseman in the league. He’s being paid as a #1. An above average #1.

He has too many performances where he belongs on the bottom pair.

I try to avoid hyperbole. Non-reactively and with a clear head, I wouldn't put this in my starting lineup.
Also it’s just not true he’s being paid as a 2. I suspect that’s a slick attempt to make his hideous overpayment sound a little better. He’s like the 13th highest paid defenseman in the league.

3:30 left in NYR/DAL hot take.

We have a "#1" Center who only shoots the puck if it's a one-timer from the left circle.

We ain't winning when it matters most within that paradigm.

ISWIS.

Go ahead. Post the heat map of Zibanjads goals. I'll eat my boot if I'm overwhelmingly wrong.

I would pay Trouba $2M to captain this team, so as far as I’m concerned, he’s a $6M defenseman and is paid exactly as he should be. I’m done complaining about that contract. If he really drops off and plays like a bottom pairing guy, I’ll be upset, but he’s at least second pairing quality for us.

The Rangers have a history of ignoring the blueline. 1992. The team was very good. No D was added. Leetch. Beukeboom. Patrick. 2012. The team was very good. No D was added. Torts tried to win with 4D. 3 1/2. McDonagh. Girardi. Staal who missed the first three months with a concussion. DZ struggled. You're not hearing anything about the Rangers looking to add a D. All of these different forwards. The Rangers won't have much remaining in terms of assets and money to add a D if they add two forwards. Another first round pick for a rental or two rentals is such shortsighted business. Even Brooks mentioned the strategy of continuously trading draft picks is not sustainable.

9 hits betweent Rempe (5 minutes) and Edstrom (7 minutes) which was about 45% of the total number of hits the Rangers got credit for (Trouba had 4 and Goodrow 3 as well)

So 8 wins in a row, against some good teams (Dallas, Colorado, Tampa). Is this still a bad hockey team? We know they have holes, though this season every top team has a pretty glaring hole or two.

Let's just be a bit positive here
