I will bet my hfboards profile hes sent down 😝
What will you put on the line Bern !?
What sent down? When? Tomorrow? Next wk/mo./yr?
bern don't do no sucker's bet....

And besides, pay attention before you waste our time, esp mine.
I have been pretty steadfast that unfortunately, I gotta call em like I see em,
So I will not gamble on Rs mgmt doing what it should do in developing youth when there is a recent track record of them doing the opposite and favoring vets

We can always hope I am wrong and they will do the right thing, but I am compelled, much tho I would prefer not to, to have to rant after each season that these rentals and other non development moves are wrong.
And I am correct to do so.
Let's hope that will not have to be the case AGAIN this yr

ps -- I know how to use emojis too

Attempting to replace Bonino and Pitlick with two rookies mid-season is an underrated move in terms of its gutsiness and I feel like no one is crediting Drury/Lav with willingness to go outside of the box to seek a solution before any significant deadline deals.

Meanwhile the last couple years Hartford has returned to a competent developmental program for the first time since the late 2000's.
Yeah, except some of this could have been a cautious experiment earlier

Wheeler is gone. Even after shifting Brodzinski to 4C Goodrow goes to the wing across from Edstrom.

If you’re getting a RW and a C.

Vesey and Brodz move down.

Edstrom stays.

Goodrow out.

If Vesey can make the Zibanejad line not suck then sure it doesn’t facilitate a move there. If he doesn’t they will certainly take a look at adding someone there.

If they do, Goodrow should be out. I don’t think he will be but it’s what should happen.

Lindgren replacement should take precedence over all.

Yeah if Vesey doesn’t workout with Zibanejad scenario. But I think his energy, tenacity and defense is exactly what’s needed for the second line. I keep reminding about priorities and trade cost.

On a somewhat separate note I’m glad that we’re moving away from labels and outcries re. Vesey’s being “only a 4th liner” and Brodzinski’s “AAAA forward”

Kakko happy and smiling.

I believe that children are our future. Teach them well and let them lead the way. Show them all the beauty they possess inside. Give them a sense of pride.

He's still the most awkward human professional athlete.

I don't know if Kakko will always love us, but maybe we should let him sing the anthem one of these days? :)

If the Rangers want to go for the cheap depth route, how about Luke Kunin from Sharks (2,750,000 this and next season and then RFA with arbitration rights) or Ty Dellandrea (RFA 900,000) from the Stars. Both bring center depth, size, sandpaper and can take a regular shift and kill penalties. Id love Jack McBain but I bet the Coyotes only deal him for an over payment

Can anyone compare Goodrow’s stats when he has played wing here versus center? My feeling is that he is not as much of a detriment at wing compared to what appears to be an unnatural position for him at center with his skating and lack of playmaking.

If that’s true, then the solution is to find a good 4C who can push Goodrow over to wing. That shouldn’t cost that much. Eller, Girgensons or Sturm. Find a low cost option.

I’d still like Hayes if he’s available and the price is minimal. Robertson + 4th is my thought. If that happens then push Brodzinski down to 4C and again push Goodrow to wing.

I like the idea of getting a low cost winger who could add some depth as well. Again, low cost. Okposo would be a good option here. Someone like that who would be comfortable playing on the 4th line or up in the lineup as a complimentary piece. It would give Laviolette the option of keeping Vesey where he is or pushing him back to the 4th line to create more depth.

Okposo + Girgensons is where I’m at I think. Robertson + 5th. The cap fits with both guys. Buffalo doesn’t need to retain at all and they fill the needed holes.

Kreider-Zibanejad-Okposo/Vesey
Panarin-Trochek-Lafreniere
Cuylle-Brodzinski-Kakko
Goodrow-Girgensons-Okposo/Vesey
Edstrom

I’d rotate Edstrom in for most games to give guys a day off for the rest of the season. Keep guys fresh and get them healthy.

Was digging through numbers to further illustrate just how dog shit Lindgren has been (and oh has he been dog shit. he is Staal/Girarding Fox.)

Along the way I found this - since Jan 1 - Trouba of all people has actually posted good numbers. He will have his occasional ass hat game (Montreal) but under the hood everything else is about as good as one could hope from him.

You think Staal and Girardi were bad defenseman?

Looking past the obvious TDL names, the UFA field is actually interesting and it might not cost much.

For the sharks, a number of players, including Duclair, might get a jolt for a playoff run.

Curious to see what Seattle and Nashville do.

I wouldn’t mind Beavillier or Blackwell from the hawks for cheap.

Staal was a good defensive defenseman at one point and was playing really well before the eye injury. He was pretty horrible after it and shouldn’t have been extended.

Girardi was never really good. Extending him was one of the bigger mistakes that Sather made. Ditto Staal.

They both played higher in a line up than they should have.

From 2014 onwards? They both sucked

Detroit pushing to keep that last WC spot. Kane doing a good job of helping them do so.
I believe before today they were 9-13 with Kane in the lineup but good for them. Hope they make it in.

Mostly concur
At 1 pt Staal was best defensive shutdown D in NHL
he shadowed the likes of Crosby very effectively

Then the eye injury, followed by concussions
Never should have been extended

Like Girardi, playing under Torts and doing all that insane shot blocking helped accelerate their demise.

I like options of one trade that pushes Brodzinski to 4C better than one with two trades for a depth at wing and 4C that keeps Brodz as 3C.
