Entirely speculative from Friedman and an easy connection to make because of where the Rangers have a need.

Would be lying if it weren't the land mine that I was worried about Drury landing on though. If Laughton were American I'd be really scared. As it stands Philly has a GM hes close with and a player who fills a positional 'need" who also brings all of the heart and soul BS that people love so much to the point where they'll overlook how bad they are.

We don't need a second Goodrow, we need to subtract the one we already have.

Laughton is the worst player in the league

Not sure why the Flyers would want to move Laughton now. They're a team that maybe should look to add than subtract. As far as the Rangers looking to add a C I'd almost rather go with Brodzinski than move our 1st rounder either this year or next. Maybe that's just me but guys like Henrique or Laughton don't excite me all that much.

There is a question of whether Chytil's career is over or not but if he's done.....there's one young former 1st rounder gone and we're going to give away another 1st rounder for a rental or a player who's not as good as Filip? I don't know. I don't like that idea. Brodzinski's kind of picked it up lately anyway and seems to be working alright with Kakko and Cuylle.

Want to move 3rd/4th rounders for playoff help? Fine. Go ahead. Okay with moving a winger prospect not named Othmann. That's what I'm alright with.

I think anyone attached to that org thinking they’re a playoff team isn’t realistic and it’s a Tort mirage.
That he’s got them doing this is fantastic, but it’s a mirage.
That being said, not interested in spending big for anything unless it’s a 3c who doesn’t cost us a current player and they have term.

Colby Cohen who use to work for the Flyers said today that Scott Laughton and Philadelphia GM Danny Briere are still very close going back to when they were teammates.
Take from this what you will.

Laughton would drive us nuts in a Goodrow way, but probably sting worse because of the cost to get him and his remaining term. He has this reputation of a warrior and shutdown guy but the same was said when Smith brought in Mike Keane and Brian Skrudland, or the pylons Sather would bring in thereafter. They might push the Copp comparison, but Copp was way younger and was on a career year when he was traded. Laughton is kinda just there and there's a better chance he's nothing more than a slight upgrade over Bonino instead of equal to or better than Chytil, which is the only thing I'm paying a high draft pick or solid prospect for.

These names being thrown around are junk. Better off sticking with what they have or simply promote kids from Hartford.

Robertson's waiver exemption expires too. Just put him a trade before March 8.
I don't watch the Red Wings (unless they're playing the Rangers) so this might be way off, but from perusing the Red Wings board fans don't seem to give much of a crap about Joe Veleno. Maybe a Robertson for Veleno swap? Gives us a young, cheap bottom 6 center - even if he's just a career 4th liner.

I'm not sure Jenner fits with them. Jenner is a solid player but he has the Ryan Callahan bug. He runs around making sure he makes contact even when it's not the right play. That's not necessarily a fit with the more understated cycle games of Cuylle and Kakko.
I totally get your point. Someone else mentioned Hayes and I think he would fit in well with those 2 because he can be the facilitator on that line and distribute pucks. The cost probably wouldn’t be as high as a Henrique. Not sure if St. Louis sells him off since they’ve been playing better since the coaching change.

Somehow I doubt Lindgren is going anywhere.

I think most people already knew he was going nowhere. You dont trade players like him away who won’t even cost much.

It’s really just been the same few posters who want him traded that recycle their same arguments every few days.

Hayes, I don't mind. He adds skill to that line while also fitting their cycle game. He has dropped off, though, and I wonder if he's much better than Brodzkinski at this point.

That's not a slight, either. Brodzinski is an effective player. He was last year too. I would make an upgrade there if it's appropriate, but the bar is higher than I think most would put it on upgrading over Brodzinski.

Lindgren would probably be fine in a 3rd pairing role not making a lot of money and hopefully paired with someone who can move the puck a bit

As a first pairing guy his run should be over

I also think Drury would not be afraid to shake up the room if he felt he needed to no matter what the players thought

Which is saying alot because we all have seen first hand how Tortarellas system hides bad players as long as they play as a unit and protect their zone first and foremost with offense being left to opportunity plays.
