I see what you did there. Needed the coffee to kick in first.

Bettman is close to reaching his ideal NHL homeostasis. 2 more midwest teams should get thereThe fact that this team is somehow 3rd in the NHL quite frankly makes me concerned about the state of the league and the sport itself.
If we acquire Hanifin it should be to play with Fox. Play that pair 25+ a night and the other 4 can play based on who is going that game.Lindrgen - Fox
Hanifin - Trouba
Miller - Schneider
would actually be pretty sick for one cup run. Then we trade Lindgren or Trouba this summer and hopefully re-sign Hanifin. Get Nic Dowd for 4C, or if he's too expensive get Nico Sturm.
I think my problem with that is Brodz, while living his dream right now, really shouldn't be getting Panarin ice time. And Kakko with Zib scares me. But Cuylle Zib, and Kreider Trochek could might put a fire under their ass.Panarin Brodz Laffy
Kreider Trocheck Vesey
Cuylle Zibs Kakko
If the playoffs started now I wouldn’t be optimistic. But there’s still 1/3 of the season to go and there’s been plenty of games this season including the recent games against Colorado and Tampa to let me have an optimistic outlook toward the end of the season. Most of their success is from their great start. They haven't really played well for a while now.
On January 1st, this team was 25-9-1. Since then, we are 8-7-2, and that's riding a 4-game win streak.
Which team do you feel is closer to their actual level? Fil is gone for the year. Kakko hasn't produced like we hoped. The first line hasn't produced like we expected. Defensively, we've regressed since earlier in the year. Igor is struggling.
There are a lot of things going wrong right now, and I've yet to see our coach do anything to address them, other than starting Quick more. All we heard about coming into the season was how they would play 1-2-2 at times. We must be the worst trapping team in the history of the league. We don't stop anyone rushing through the neutral zone. Where is the defensive structure?
Point at 3rd place all you want, but this team isn't a cup contender right now.
Huh? In what way?Brodzinski is the new Blackwell
I always love your line blender suggestionsPanarin Brodz Laffy
Kreider Trocheck Vesey
Cuylle Zibs Kakko
I don't care as long as Kreider and Zibs are separated and Panarin and Laffy stay together tbhI think my problem with that is Brodz, while living his dream right now, really shouldn't be getting Panarin ice time. And Kakko with Zib scares me. But Cuylle Zib, and Kreider Trochek could might put a fire under their ass.
Swap Vesey and Kakko.
As slow as all hell Wheeler is, there's something old man wizard like about his passing and shots. I kind of don't hate him.

I’m starting to be a bit frustrated with Laviolette. I can see him recognizing Panarin - Trocheck - Lafreniere as a legitimate first line consisting of the team’s 3 best forwards (the switch in the middle of the game showed that Trocheck is more dynamic than Zibanejad at this point). And I can understand his thinking that he found his 4th line and that Cuylle - Brodzinski - Kakko is what it is and have been contributing as much as could be reasonably expected. However, essentially leaving Kreider - Zibanejad - Wheeler “to figure it out” is a wrong approach. Zibanejad has not been a top-2 line driver dynamic for most of the season and Wheeler doesn’t have it in him anymore at this point in his career. And we can complain about Wheeler being in the wrong spot or that it’s not his fault but the other two of his linemates, but it’s useless to keep pointing fingers one way or the other. Laviolette has to try something for a few games at least (not a couple of shifts bullshit). IMO switching pivots on the top lines is not a solution because Wheeler is still an issue (I’ve been aski for a few weeks now to give Lafreniere a go with Zibanejad and put continuing to improve Kakko with Trocheck).
Similarly Laviolette seems to have the same approach to D. Personally I don’t think the Rangers have better option to play with Fox but why not at least try switching Miller with Gustafsson and adjust ice time a bit by reducing Trouba minutes in favor of Schneider (and Fox - Lindgren)?
Huh? In what way?
Just no man. No friends here for that one. What would we have to add to Zibadejad to get Danault out of LA?

Situations are not even close. There were options for Blackwell’s spot in top-6. Please let me know who’s a better available option to be 3C? Further it took close to half seasons to get Brodzinski a regular spot with the varsity.Being allowed to play

It's the dynamic of this team that is not actually inspiring. They had a few multi-day breaks after bad games lately (both wins and losses), but it doesn't seem they're figuring it out. Some of you guys live and die on every game, lol. Last night was a trap game if I ever saw one. They just played well and won against Colorado and Tampa and then had this 1 game idiotic road trip to Chicago to play a bottom feeder. I could see a letdown for sure. They will play better against Calgary and they will have to. Oh, and they did get the 2 points and have won 4 in a row.

Good time to start doing that.
