Sitting Gus would be an awful move. Like objectively one of the worst moves the team can make.

If they're going to touch the D, it has to be to upgrade 1LD. Thats the biggest sore spot on the team right now. Lindgren is a BIG reason (like basically the only reason) why Fox is having a "down" year.

3C right behind it. You want to add a depth D? Fine, but Gus shouldn't be coming out.

Boyle brought up Nick Seeler. Brian knows the deal. The Rangers need another big D. People ask me where is that D playing. I would sit Gustafsson to play a bigger D if the Rangers went in that direction. Boyle brought up Vegas and their big D from last season.

The Rangers need more size upfront too. Drury should try to get bigger and harder to play against. The Rangers have players who can score goals. If those guys don't produce offensively, the Rangers are cooked.

Of Othmann can actually stick, I don't hate:

Kreider-Zibanejad-Vesey
Panarin-Trochek-Lafreniere
Othmann-Chytil-Kakko
Cuylle-Goodrow-_________

Add a physical bottom-6 forward and I think that's a good group. Wheeler, Pitlick and Bonino are spares in this scenario.

What do you guys think about this:

Kuzmenko (1.5M retained) for Goodrow, 2024 1st and Gabe Perrault?

Essentially getting a 39 goal scorer (at @ 4M) and dumping a useless contract but you would have to give up Perrault and a late 1st (for retaining).

Tocchet and his caffeinated arteries is benching and sitting Kuzmenko because he wants all his players to play a two way game which has Kuzmenko being misused. Guy can easily score 30 goals a season with ice time which is super frustrating.

I don't see Lavs sitting Gus for anyone we could acquire. I think the D squad is set, for better or for worse. We need a better 7D than Jones.

Seeler and Trenin. Both guys contracts should be able to fit under the cap.

Where are the Rangers finding that player at the deadline?

This could be a case where they legitimately shut him down for a while, like no physical exertion at all and now he needs to get ramped back up like he did in the summer. In that case, going back home and working with his preferred trainer would make sense

If Drury moved Goodrow in a deal for Kuzmenko I’d take back every bad thing I’ve ever said about him

Kuzmenko could be a good fit with Zibanejad. Great at creating off the rush.

But thats all he has really. Im not paying out the nose for that guy, especially when it looks like Vancouver is hurting to move him.

Yeah if Othmann plays well, that lineup could be a real problem. Even if you leave Vesey with Cuylle and Goodrow and just put Wheeler back up top. Hopefully Chytil and Kakko are back sooner rather than later.
