Kakko is not going to be part of a deal that is for futures or rentals, so we're looking at a player that has term to resolve a team issue.
Moving Kakko means that they do need to replace him too, so there would need to be some kind of subsequent trade to get a middle 6 type winger. To me this is the player where you can go with a rental since the team's organizational depth is strongest on the wings. And on top of that rental prices for wingers are not nearly what it is for a center.
Still feel Nashville is the team to make a move with. In the main boards thread on Kakko, a Preds fan mentions Sissons as a piece. 3 years on his deal and the cap hit is under 3M. You wouldn't need retention. He'd fill the 3C void (and could transition to 4C at the end of the deal). The cap going up makes that deal very manageable and it's a constant. You don't know what Kakko will want on a new deal and it's going to be more than Sissons currently makes.
Sissons is what Goodrow was supposed to be, but he's not riding the coattails of players like Blake Coleman and Yanni Gourde. I know others here have suggested Novak, but I don't think the Preds would move the younger player unless they feel they could not sign him. Nashville is also 9th in the West and they've never been the full teardown types.
