Thomas Harley is everything the Rangers want Miller to be. Harley had a great game last nght playing with Miro. The Stars are very good.

Miller and Schneider have so much more to give. Brooks was discussing Schneider on the podcast with Boyle yesterday. Schneider is stuck on the 3rd pair. He plays better with more responsibility and more minutes.
Maybe the play is to move Trouba in the summer and promote Schneider. Sign a 3rd pair RD and go after someone like Charlie Elick in the draft to fill the spot in a few years.
Well it’s getting to that point
I don't understand the attitude that because a player hasn't lived up to expectations, he has to be moved. We could just accept that he is what he is, and that still has value to the team. Trading him for a Kaliyev is just rolling the dice again that a player who hasn't met expectations will figure it out. I'd rather do that with the guy I know than risk making a deal that ends up biting us in the ass.

Very on brand for our intrepid beat writers that no one noticed what happened to Chytil when there were 3 guys on the ice.

To be fair, it seems like it was an optional skate for scratches where all they were doing for 30-40 mins was skating around puck handling and shooting. There's not much to watch and something like this could happen in an instant.

I'd take Vatrano on this team from age 23-30 if we could do it for minimal cost.

Vatrano looked good here because he didn't hesitate to shoot the puck. That's a rarity on this team and it's also the reason Panarin has looked so much better this year. Othmann will help this as he likes to shoot the puck too. I'd be interested in Kaliyev if the price isn't outrageous.
You ignored the dumber part. Can it be overcome? Maybe but if not you get bigger but slower Brandon Pirri maybe?

we have two non-NHLers playing center right now, Chytil is a good NHLer, that makes a massive difference.
How much better would we have been the first third of the season? We were playing at a top of the league level. I said FC would be a plus but massive is an over statement for someone who has been so inconsistent his career. If the point is he is better than who we have now yes but massive?

They need to get another center. Chytil can't even warm up without getting hurt.
It was always a question mark at least in my mind how effective he would be based on the injury and long layoff. Now another potential injury. The guy may just be jinxed. In any case depending on him at any point this season was always a gamble.

5 people tweeted about it so there were certainly plenty of eyeballs. Probably reading this thread to get ideas for their next filler article.

Sean Monahan come on down

Hate to say it, but we ought to be rebuilding again. We don't have any shot at winning the Cup with only 2 NHL centers, one of whom is a giant softy. We have no center prospects on the way, and our superstar winger is entering his mid-30s.

Obviously it will never happen because this organization's MO is fixing the sinking Titanic with Flex Seal. We'll trade futures for some short-term fix that won't work and we'll get knocked out in the first two rounds of the playoffs again.

There's massive room for improvement in regards to how we've actually played. Nobody criticizing the team is concerned about wins and losses and nobody should be. They're a coin flip in regular season NHL play.

We're -5 at even strength. Everyone focuses on the slump but it wasn't any better before the slump. It was like +2. The powerplay went a little bit cold and we can't win a game.

It's an ice cold take to say the Rangers shouldn't have the record they do and are a pretty average team as they stand. As @Raspewtin said, they have two guys who shouldn't be in the NHL playing center (maybe Brodzinski, barely, but still) so what about that is surprising?

Monahan stinks. Don’t let the goals last night fool you.

He doesn’t have the courage for it, but it’s time for Drury to fulfill the Karl Henriksson prophecy. Or idk, just move Wheeler to 3C because he played there a bunch in WPG and call Othmann back up

I also believe we need another rebuild... as this one is stillborn.

That said... I'd feel a lot better about going into a rebuild with some proof that our forward development process has undergone a thorough post mortem of the absolute failure of the last "rebuild" and made complete/significant changes.

Im failing to see the logic of the pro 2nd rebuild people who also say the Rangers cant develop players

Hopefully Gorton charges Drury a Ranger tax so we cant afford him. Idk what better options there are without trading guys off the NHL roster

Do the better option that involves trading off the roster.

Those guys will probably have term.

Also I’d wait and see what exactly happened with Chytil before making a panic move. Monahan sucks and wouldn’t fit here. Hes really bad at everything this team is already really bad at.

I don't think it's a failure to develop players wholesale...

It's specifically the lack of ability to develop high end forward talent.

If it was the 90s the Rangers would offer Othmann, Perrault and 2 firsts for Crosby, and probably get him lol
