He will take valuable ice time away from Buch though since he is still better skilled and an experience player.

Not if you play them together :dunno:

Kreider-Zib-Zucc
Nash-Hayes-Miller
Buch-Andersson-Jagr
Vesey-Desharnais-Grabner

Idea: Holden for Joe Colborne.

Not sure where he primarily played last season but I've been under the impression he's primarily a center. UFA after the season. Had a **** season, but has been productive in the recent past.

I'm gonna throw **** at a wall all day in terms of potential centers we could trade Nicky for.

I think he might too :dunno:

Great minds think alike. But seriously though, I would put chances at him testing UFA at better than 75%. Sure, the Isles drafted him, and I'm sure there's some kinship there but that's about it. The franchise is behind the Penguins, Capitals, Rangers, Jackets, and possibly the Flyers? Not to mention they are basically a nomad team without a real homebase. They aren't staying in Brooklyn, we know that. Are they going back to LI? Very unlikely. Could they go to another city? Does JT want that as an unknown on top of being with a team with no direction and future on the ice? The only thing the Islanders have going for them with resigning JT is if he has such a strong bond that he wants to stay there and try to make them competitive. But I don't see it.

I don't think he does. The Isles will give him a max contract if they have to in order to keep him. JT knows Snow tried to improve the team in the off season. Eberle will be the best winger he has ever played with. He is staying on the Island.

One thing is for sure, he will not be a Ranger under any circumstances.

I know people think I'm crazy, but I would put big money on the fact that Tavares enters UFA.

We'd need a ton of young talent to make its way through to the big team...

Graves, Day, Fontaine, Tambo, Gropp, Andersson, Halverson/Nell, Nieves...

But ****, that would be a fantastic team. Throw in some depth UFA signings and a Staal buyout, and we could fit him at $11.5M

I think it is just a 50-50 guess at this point. Hard to have a educated guess when we have no idea how their season will go. I do think it is more likely if they have a poor season and less likely if they have a great season. If I was JT I forget about top dollar and just ask myself where would I love to play most. The money will be there no matter what team he wants to play for in my opinion.

LOL you got it. How can we walk away from our 2017 playoff leading p/60 scorer? :D

No clue. At least that guy gave it his all every shift.

AV made the mistake of having him out there late in games versus OTT. Cost them.

I was just joking because the P/60 guys often hate Glass. It was ironic.

Something to think about - once Seguin and Tavares are extended, name the non-ELC centers better than Zibanejad at under 6 million.

And another nugget I found.

Exclusively against elite competition

Nash - 41.1% CF
Fast - 46.6% (very respectable)
Vesey - 41.6%
Miller - 40.6%

Kreider - 52.2%
