I'd wonder if Bob gets sent to Washington. No other goalie options and they have the space.

Also, I hope we keep Motte and at a good price. Would be a shame to lose him.

I don’t know for certain, but my guess is that Fla have done the opposite of what we did with Tony D, with Bob. But it’s hard to see it working, doubt anyone will take him off their hands.

You are the dense one....I never once said Blais or Kravtsov was as good as Kane....what are you smoking? I said we're adding Blais and Kravtsov to this team which already made it to the ecf and we dont have a center. You must mean Kane will play center, i can't believe you said that....see how this works, i can say stuff you never said too.
There you go again.

Friedman said yesterday that he expects Kuemper to sign with the Caps
6 x 6

The Rangers are buying out Oskar Lindblom. 1/3 buyout. $3M cap hit. Lindblom had cancer three years ago. His hockey fancy stat numbers aren't bad considering he has played for Philly which has been awful these last two seasons.

Would you give the Rakell deal to Trocheck after we buyout Nemeth?
I feel like there's a game of musical chairs going on. There are too many Centers compared to 'good teams with cap space'.

Eventually one player will be left out and they will have to settle for taking less AAV on a winner or going to Seattle.

I still 100% sign Stastny and I think that's where Drury is leaning. He's been shrewd. The talk is about him wanting 'flexibility' and not giving term.

Analytically, Stastny was better than ALL of the UFA centers and will cost less. It's a slam dunk, no brainer. It also allows you to re-up Motte.

Bc I think people are skeptical you can win a cup with Erik Christensen as your 2c
Bad example. The idea is to find a good player in the bargain bin, one who compliments what the team needs. With limited cap space, the team has to be more creative in how they go about solving problems, rather than just throwing the most money at the biggest name.

Does Seattle need centers anymore? They just fell ass backwards into Wright. Beiners and Gourde are already there.

The NYR are letting a lot of pieces walk (most they have no choice) and they currently have some holes but I gotta say, I think Drury is playing this as well as he can.

Clearly agents and players are hoping for mostly “business as usual” in terms of contracts. Many of them will certainly get what they are looking for in the open market. But on Wednesday at noon for at least some of them, the flat cap reality is going to have an impact on what they can secure.

It’s a real game of chicken. I’d rather a GM be patient than panic in this situation.

One name to watch for, if the Flames lose JG and decide to just trade Tkachuk too, is Lindholm. That contract is hot, and the player is unreal. Incredible two-way C and would immediately give the Rangers a 1A to Zib.

Seems like a real pipe dream but this is a guy you give up Kakko for. Rangers have had interest before as well.

Is Malkin a player the Rangers should have interest in as a replacement for Strome and Copp, or would Malkin come at too high a price to New York?

Im with you. One of these centers is going to be left without a seat at the table.

With Malkin it's more about the term than the money. He wanted 4 years, and under no circumstances do I want anything to do with that. Not with the Rangers, not with the Avs even if both need a 2nd line C. I could give Malkin a shot for two years but that's it.

Malkin gives the Rangers what Patty Kane would but at a position of need and without giving up any assets. It might take 4 years, which is risky, but he is also the most obvious future LTIR candidate in NHL history. Id be interested.

I was generalizing, as a 'bad team with cap space'
No for sure, but in regards to centers looking for their big pay day (Strome, Copp) Wright falling to Seattle may have really hurt their leverage.

The Flames could be players for Kadri. Johnny G is out the door. He's been sitting on an 8X9.5 offer for over a week.

You're asking a management group who, year after year and regime over regime, have been ABYSMAL at pro scouting (Zbad - the exception that proves the rule), to make above average decisions based on their pro-scouting, on players who've already failed on other teams.

Big ask IMO

Drury has so many options here and I fully believe Strome and Copp are on another planet. No idea where they wind up.

He can deal for Miller or Dubois he’s got the pieces

He can sign a malkin short term 3-4 years and take a run with the best actual center available (when healthy of course). By the way Malkin has always said he’d want to play for the Rangers if he left Pitt.

He can sign one of trocheck stastny even Dylan Strome if he wants to seriously give Chytil more ice time and a battle for 2C.

He can look into kadri (which I wouldn’t do but no way he’s getting first line center money from anyone)

OR the wildcard

Trade for Patrick Kane (again wouldn’t do but come on that would be exciting)

I mean he’s going to prioritize finding a legit player. Won’t be cheap but he’ll find the money.

Lot of different options here i trust him. What I do know is we are in full blown win now mode and that’s what they’re going to try and achieve here. Add to an already legit Cup contender.

Part of me is going to be surprised if kakko is still here on opening night. But I think we’ll know that in the next couple days.
