So if Kakko is the centerpiece along with Lundy and a small add( this yrs 2nd)....no otthman or 2023 1st...it will not decimate us as a team. Core youth still here with vast experience in the playoff wars. JT is exactly what we need to fortify the roster...It sets up Igors next contract and we back fill the roster with the expanded cap ceiling. There is no reason to not solve our 2C deficiency. Pay up and go full bore blazing to win the Cup. Does Strome money plus Kakko money and Nemeth buyout solve JT money? 5+2.5+1=8.5?

Only reason to watch is for potential transactions.

Potential trades are always fun. The Rangers could end up with a late first if they think Nils is better used as a chip to get another forward on an ELC in a few years vs. an asset to go after a 2C now. Not saying I agree with that - just mentioning it.

If Lambert falls far enough that could be an intriguing play.

The Devils have the cap space to do many things but their cap space will be gobbled up very fast when they re-sign Bratt for $7M AAV and if they sign Gaudreau for $9.5M-$10M AAV. Are the Devils taking a forward at #2? They need a defenseman. Trade down?

The Devils have just four players under contract after this season. Hughes. Hischier. Hamilton. Mercer.

Arizona to the rescue! The official dumbster if the NHL lmao. But honestly, they have a crazy amount in Draft picks in the first two rounds. If they trade Chychrun and draft wisely they may be a force to reckon with in 3-4 years.

Shane Wright would be best served playing in the OHL next season. Wright hasn't had a very good last couple of seasons. He might not even be the best player in the draft. The TSN hype train made him the first round pick in the 2022 draft 2-3 years ago.

Brooks reported Anaheim was in the contract pick up business a few weeks ago. Verbeek knows Nemeth from Detroit.
