Most of the lineup is set and a few players are vying for the last spots.

I get it. Carpenter has played in the NHL, played for Gallant, was signed to be in Rooney's spot, blah blah blah. But he hasnt won a job. Its been painfully clear (up to this point) that Rydahl has more to offer this team.
Maybe in the end Rydahl will be ahead of Carpenter in the depth chart, since vets are given a longer leash, but both these guys make 750K and it bothers me that certain guys are just inked in at camp due to history. Why have a competitive camp then?
Of course the Panarins and Mikas and Foxs are on the team and tuning up. But the "battle" for the last few spots needs to be real to push the lineup imo. Same reason Kravstov was sent down the year he left. Because he wasnt ready
If the way both are these guys are playing continues its an easy choice. We'll see what happens with all of the waiver wire shit. They probably dont want to lose Carpenter for depth reasons. Would he actually be picked up though?
A 4th line of Vesey-Rydahl-Goodrow is a pretty good 4th line.
Goodrow-Carpenter-Reaves is what its likely to be.
