Let's hope LaF, Kakko, and Kravtsov all take steps forward and put this Kane shit to bed. This draft is too strong to take a flier, and sure fire won't play here after the playoffs, rental player like Kane.
Lafreniere already took a step forward last season. He scored 19 even strength goals while getting only 14 mins ATOI most of it on lower lines. He got no PP1 time. If he had PP1 time he could've passed 50 points. Gallant is the problem here. If Lafreniere isn't put on PP1 he won't visibly have the next step forward. You'll have to analyze his numbers based on his opportunities. Gallant actively stunting his progress is a thing. Literally every high profile number one pick forward is gifted PP1 time. Lafreniere has not been given PP1 time at all, instead Ryan f'n Strome was and most likely his replacement will be too. But we have to ask ourselves who is more important to the future of this franchise Lafreniere, Strome, or Trocheck. Lafreniere is by a landslide. Gallant will Gallant though. If Lafreniere is on PP1 he will score 60+ points this season. If he's not be ready for the "Lafreniere is a bust" nonsense. Every "elite" player in the NHL pads their numbers on PP1. All of them.

Hahaha, I wish… In surgery and about to go under the knife in a few hours. So Morphine Will be my numbness fix for today. Should be a routine procedure - unless they Find something undesirable. We Will see.
🙏 prayers for you, friend.

Panarin and Kane did not win a playoff series in their two seasons in Chicago. The Hawks won the Cup in 2015 and they lost in the first round twice with Panarin and Kane in 15-16 and 16-17. These people act like they won multiple Cups together. Chemistry. Can we win some games?

Patrick Kane scored 92 points last season on a rebuilding shit show of a Chicago team. Chicago may not have known they were rebuilding based on the moves they decided to make going for Seth Jones, but they were. He is a 3x Cup Winner and a Conn Smythe winner. He knows what winning is and he can still produce. AND he has chemistry with Panarin. This isnt just some over the hill veteran. He is still very, very productive. There are not going to be many teams that fit the bill of cup competitive, cap space, and assets to acquire.
Don't give a rats ass about who he is, was or will be.

Hes 34 years old and getting older.

Not parting with 1st rounders for guys that are on the back nine of their careers.

Because it's NEVER just a 1st. It's a 1st+++ and they hardly ever work out.

I have no interest or desire to jump start someone else's rebuild.

Hard pass on Kane

That is interesting that you “don’t give a rats ass” about the facts. Because regardless of the easy argument of he is “old and getting older” he is STILL producing at a high clip. Your argument is invalid. He isn’t showing signs of someone on the “back nine of his career”. This all may sound good to you but it isnt the case.

You know what I don’t give a rats ass about? I don’t give a rats ass about “jumpstarting” someone else’s rebuild, although I would hardly call a late 1st rounder + 2nd rounder + B prospect “jumpstarting” a rebuild. Oh and by the way, Chicago is ALREADY rebuilding. This isn’t even some rival team.

And the big variable in all of this is Kane’s NMC, which will affect the trade return, just as it did with Giroux to the Panthers last year. If Kane has a short list it changes things. Not a lot of teams have the assets to make the deal either. The Rangers do.

You can bet your ass that if the Rangers are at or near the top of the East at the deadline that there will be serious consideration for Patty Kane.

Its early but currently in the top 20 hockey news there are 10 Centers
A boring year for fun names i see.

We are so drafting Will Smith. Just a vanilla name for a vanilla gm.

It's a long season, between possible injuries, and them not really knowing what to expect out of like half the roster, it seems like trying to figure out what they will do at the deadline is premature.
