Yea, that’s what they need to do. Pull 100 point Panarin off of the PP for career 4 point winger Kravtsov because he one timed some passes into an empty net during practice.
lol you think I was implying Kravtsov

ROR should be the target if we are still in position where we should buy at the TDL. muhc better than kane
We addressed the C issue with Trochek. That ship sailed. Who is moving to the wing to accommodate ROR, Chytil? Chytil's one of our most effective Fs right now. Zib? No.

Our biggest gap is at RW. Kane could help there if we go through the necessary cap gymnastics. Tarasenko would look good too. But we aren't playing like a team that is missing one piece.

Whatever we pay for, there needs to be a plan for them to be here longer than this post-season, if we even make this post-season.

Where would ROR even fit in? And it would guarantee he’d be a rental because there’s no shot they could afford to re-sign him and even if they found a way to move Kreider/Trouba to fit him in you’re left with a third line center making over 6 million a year(Trochek) unless somebody plays out of position. And then you have Chytil too. I agree the Rangers need more guys who hate to lose, that mentality like MacKinnon, ROR, Shoresy, but due to the tight cap help won’t be on the way unless it’s an identical salary swap.

This is an improvement
But cost would be too high and not sure how it fits under the cap

Forget ROR, forget Kane, forget Tank. What's it take to get Vatrano at 50%? Bring back Motte? Get the band back together!

Step 1:
Out: Krav, Blais, Goat, Carp
In: Vatrano, Motte

Step 2:

Step 3:
Win Cup

I’m fine with the 4th for Vatrano, but we should have kept Barron and drafted Brad Lambert instead of trading for Copp.
Gonna be clear. Copp is one of the major reasons we go as far as we did.
His playoffs was fantastic, and he pushed the Panarin line significantly, since Panarin and strome avoided the dirty areas in the playoffs.

What I like the most about this post is that step 2 is blank because who the f*** knows how we get from step 1 to step 3

Ok, but the juice wasn’t worth the squeeze

Increasingly confident that Goodrow gets bought out this offseason.

He’s far more replaceable on this roster right now than Ryan Lindgren.

That is of course assuming neither Trouba or Kreider are moved next summer.

Traded maybe. Buyout? I don't think so. He'd be on the books for six years and the savings aren't all terrific.

Would be the only time to do it. His salary makes a big jump next season. I do not think there will be a team willing to pay him 5M for the next two years in salary. If they are, they'll want a high pick and another asset in return.

It's actually not that bad except for 1 year where there is a 3.65M cap charge, but that is 4 years from now. I'd rather worry about that then and reap the benefits of a negative cap charge the next two years.

I did the calculator a couple of weeks ago and it looked okay- just bad 3-4 years from now when the cap goes up.

Not at my computer such that I can run it again to double check, but that’s my recollection at least.

What if I told you ROR would absolutely play RW here

not to be a Debbie downer here but ROR has 2 goals in 11 games and no assists.....

some on here are complaining that zib sucks.....he has 7 goals in 14 games and 16 points

also we could never extend him unless we dump krieder or trouba

We made the god damn conference finals.
That is the most insane argument ever.
The kids (our future) gained invaluable experience on a deep playoff run.
Instead of being bounced in 4-5 games by Pittsburg, and being told “experience matters, and they’ll need 2-3 runs before they get enough “ now they’re legit playoff vets.

It wasn't a competitive appearance in the conference finals. We couldn't have made it without Copp? I don't know.

Who is complaining saying Zib sucks???? Lol what.

Also, ROR could be an incredible buy low candidate right now.

It wasn’t. No one was expecting us to go past the second round. Those 6 games were the cherry on the ice cream sundae.

The kids got 20 games of playoff experience.
In one run.
They learnt they needed to close out series early to not be burnt at the end.
They learnt how to excel in the playoffs.

I don’t care that we didn’t win a cup. This board is about the future. That run was perfect for the future
