How? who is going to the wing in that situation? Zib, chytil, trochek, or ROR?
The lazy answer is chytil but to his credit he has evolved this year as a center and the last thing we need to do is start jerking chytil around now when we have already done that enough with laffy and kakko.

yup, but yet they are always projected as the third best line on this team which is comical...
the vets on this team making 40% of the cap are the shit of the team right now and everyone just keeps targeting the kids here when things are going poorly and then try to use them together to spark life back into this mess of a team. it is ridiculous how they are being manipulated to make up for construction issues and underwhelming play by the big boys...

Double shift that line at this point. Start PP2 and leave them out there for the whole 2 minutes. Maybe they will be the spark. Something needs to be.
He's a good 4th line defensive forward. He's not the problem, his deployment is

To me part of the problem is that we lack defensive responsibility as a group. Carpenter is a net negative. Reaves isn't providing anything. I'd love to see this for a few games.

Its not that gallant wants to deploy him that much. Its that nobody is stepping up and outworking him.
The players just are not giving their all. There is no fight in this team, which is so odd bc there was a ton of fight last year and its basically the same team.

He's 10th on the team in 5v5 TOI ahead of only Carpenter and the Reaves/Gauthier spot. His deployment has not been an issue.

And yet they have the 4th best ratio of Shot Attempts to Unblocked Shot Attempts in the league at 5v5.
I stand corrected. It seems like we've given up a few big goals off blocked shots so maybe it just sticks out
