The bigger issue is that if the kids dont start taking over we are kinda f’ed.

Trouba still has 3 more years
Kreider 4
Goodrow 4

All with NMCs or NTC

Teoubas buyout would last 6 years, krei/goody 8.

And i dont see anybody taking those contracts unless we offer like 50%. Which again would last for 3-4 years of dead cap space.

Basically i think we are going to have the same team for at least next year as well.

That means gallant is the only real change we can make and i think his seat is starting to get warm.

I want to see these lines for two weeks. Let them gel 5 v 5. A lot of this team struggles 5 v 5 are from the constant injuries and ensuing line shuffling.

Laf-Zib-American Kakko
Panarin-Trochek-Vesey
Kreider-Chytil-Kravtsov
Blais-Goodrow-Gauthier

Michkov.
Like the lines.

No way for michkov at #1… yes for #2… but bedard is clear 1OA

Last year we had elite Igor with no fancy stats. That was enough.
This year we have average Igor with fancy stats. That is not enough.

Once Igor figures it out, we will be fine.
I think this is one of the most important things to look at

Igor will figure it out, hes way too good of a goalie to play this poorly

Somehow exchanging Kreider for ROR would solve a lot of this team's issues...

the cap will go up significantly in years 2-5 from now, higher cap ceiling means higher cap floor.....which in terms will mean the bottom feeders need contracts to hit the floor....this year and next will be TIGHT, but after that, im not concerned

Isn't there a chance the cap goes up next season ? Didn't Gary say the escrow or whatever from covid should be paid back this season?

there is a chance we could see a 5 million bump, which would be HUGE

im thinking worst case scenario we see that the following year, but either way we will be fine.....everyone freaking out about the cap isn't thinking long term.....yes this year will be tight, and most likely what we see now is what we will have when the season winds down, but after that we will see more cap space and more flexibility

I think they said there is a small chance it goes up by 4 million next season.

I'm stilling laughing at the idea that that some people had during preseason that Miller was some superstar in the making with untapped offensive potential who would steal Norris votes from Fox.

The best thing that's coming for this roster is the extended road trip next week. If I was Drury I would have this team on a flight to Seattle Monday afternoon. Get away from all the noise and distractions in NY, have a few good skates, and bond with the boys.

God I hope they win that game. Flying to Seattle tomorrow and going to the game with my buddy. It's also on my birthday! 😮‍💨

New lines for practice today. Trouba is out for maintenance again. Micheletti speculated that he is dealing with something, but wasn't going to sit. Maybe with Lindgren back he will come out.

Not sure why Gauthier who is also back is not on a line at the moment. He's more effective than most of the 4th line.
