Examining how Libor Hajek likely will fit in Rangers lineup as fill-in

I think I would rather

Jones/Trouba
Hajek/Fox
Miller/Schneider

There aren't any great options here. A Jones/Schneider third pairing will continue to get minimal TOI. Fox and Trouba can compensate for Jones and Hajek's weaknesses. Miller should get an opportunity to be the offense-driving D on a pairing, and he can do that with Schneider better than with Trouba or Fox.

I still don’t get why Barron was in the Copp deal
Dude would be playing Vs signing Carpenter
Just a guess but I don’t think he meshed with Gallant. There was a point in the season when he was the only forward available to ice twelve and Gallant went with 7 d instead. Happened two times maybe three.

We'd end up shorthanded but sometime or other Reaves needs to go out right after Frederic (or the next punk) gets out of the box and say, "you went after a smaller guy, now you get me." Otherwise he isn't detering a damn thing. Dont't run goalies, and he won't anyway. He plays by the old codes. But someone needs to be punished and Goodrow shouldn't have to.

Agreed to early but it’s becoming obvious they are going to need rentals like last year for the bottom 6 and 6/7 D

Gonna add like 3 bodies by the deadline. That’s why you stock up picks in a Georgiev and Lundkvist deal

I don’t trust Hajek W an injury like Lindgren now for example. Gotta add another Braun type

I also don’t feel comfortable W Carpenter or Reaves. Maybe try Rydahl and or Cuylee eventually

Chytil out hurts the depth
We don't have the cap space to add much, unless we're just exchanging similar cap hits.

We all knew they weren't going to have the mojo of last season.

All they have to do is be good enough to get in the dance and take it from there.

They're not avoiding the injury bug which is unfortunate.

This board is starting to remind me of 2012-13 (2013 strike shortened season) when they were so desperate for depth and warm bodies and guys like Ben Ferrerio, Darrol Powe, and a cooked Jason Arnott become unicorns here.

110% forgot about this. Dying right now.

Go get Chychrun

If need be, dump Blais or Reaves.

I will never understand why Brodz isn’t here and a staple the 4th line

As far as the defense pairs, you limit Hajeks ice time as much as possible. Do not play him with Fox that would be Pejorative Slured. I know Jones has had a tough start but I'd rather see him with Fox. Their shifts have generated a lot of pressure the few times they have been out together.

He’s better than Carpenter, Reaves, Blais, Gauthier and on par with Vesey IMO

We need skaters. He makes a noticeable difference in the bottom 6.

Beating a dead horse but not signing Motte was brain dead
Their is a reason he isn't an NHL regular or everyday player at his age. He is not the good. He'd be good on an expansion team.

Kane would certainly fill a need we have, but there just isn't any cap space. I'm also not sure it would be smart to part with both of our first rounders at next year's draft to get Kane with double retention at the TDL (I would imagine that would be the price?)

Our RW depth is horrendous. One of the worst in the League. Kakko, Kravtsov, Blais, Reaves, Gauthier have a combined nine points. Panarin has been the ONLY good winger for us. And we were supposed to have one of the strongest winger lineups in the league? The guys need to step up big time.

Another issue is our D core. It's even more an issue than our RW depth. Lindgren injured is a massive hit. Now we have a Hajek, Jones and Schneider on our roster. We need Trouba and Schneider to step up big time. Fox and Miller have been good. The rest not so much.

Weirdly our centers have been the most balanced part of our group. Zib, Trocheck, Chytil have all been good. Need Fil back asap. Our bottom six is a non factor.
