Is anyone else concerned that bread appears to be playing the same way as the playoffs last year?
Nope. Currently, he's just fine. In May, we'll see if "playoff Bread" is different.
I’m not sure but I think Hajek SHOULD get some practice time with actual D partners (and maybe even a game here and there!) in case there are injuries and we need to rely on him. Really doesn’t sound too outlandish... If he replaces Jones outright then I can see the criticism.
Hajek should be getting reps with both Schneids and Jones, in practice. Even if he doesn't ultimately suit up. We should be okay until deadline, regardless.
So Hajek going in over Jones? I knew Jones would not be given a fair chance. The 6th dman for the Rangers will always be an issue just like Laf never getting a chance on pp1. Not even worth stressing about it anymore.
It remains to be seen how many games this happens. Hajek played in a game with our backup...there's no pattern yet. KK and Laf have gotten top 6 looks. PP time is only a notable issue if either or both are on the 3rd with Fil.

With a couple of cheaper reinforcements, we have 5 lines and 4 pairs for the playoffs. If anyone "sticks" on the 3rd /4th line or third pair, like Othmann, Cuylle, Rydahl, or Robertson, Skinner, Emberson, then we save a 3rd rounder or two..
Overall, we're pretty set to replicate "a great regular season, plus a nightmare playoff matchup," like last season. I don't see Kane as the "Vatrano" replacement for cheapish, unless he forces his way here. I can see Braun returning as a rental, where we only need a Braun-level player to improve upon Hajek anyway.
I honestly think we're set up to replicate last regular season. We don't need to go "all out" to improve on last playoffs. If we get a great deal for someone up front, then great, but it's not required, imo. We just need minor supplemental help to match "a likely ECF team," like last year.
