Blais has been in the league five years and the most games he has played in any one season is 40.

This is disingenuous though:

2017-2018
11 games played regular season in the NHL
42 games played in the AHL
53 games played

2018-19
32 regular season games in the NHL
15 playoff games
26 games played in the AHL
73 games played

2019-2020
40 regular season games in the NHL (recall that this regular season was only ~68 games long)
8 playoff games (team only played 9)
48 games played out of a possible 77

2020-2021
36 regular season games in the NHL (recall that this season was only 56 games long)
4 playoff games (our of 4)
40 games played out of a possible 60 games

Am I saying that the guy is perfectly healthy all the time? No. But to say he has only played a high of 40 games isn't accurate.

I don't hate Trouba on the PP. He has one of the best shots of any d-man on the team from the point and he likes to shoot which can be an issue with teams with a lot of skilled players. In saying that, he shouldn't be on the top of the Diamond, he should be in the shooters spot off to the left so he can one-time shots. If Kravtsov and Lafreniere rotate around and end up playing the left side point a bit I could see that working but what they should avoid is Trouba being the primary distributor of the puck up there.
He shoots hard but thats about it. His head is buried 75% of the time. The best guys up top shoot for tips, Trouba tries to blast slapshots past the goalies like its 1991. He is not nearly skilled enough to play along the side wall

A self deprecating one today

It really sucks constantly being right up against the cat because it could really benefit us the claim a depth defenseman
Should've signed Stralman to a PTO, then kept him as our #7 Dman on a vet minimum deal. Waived Hajek and all the other plugs.

It's not difficult to make smart decisions around the fringes. We just choose not to.
