Imagine being buffalo and getting scraps in this sell-off.

The prices tanks hard. The market is very different going forward.

Unlike Gusev, DeAngelo had 1.5 years left on his contract. Forcing the buyout makes more financial sense.

Not really. He loses out on that money regardless. Like whatever he gets paid to play next season is on top of any of these calculations. And it will be a small prove it type deal. No one is going to pay him more than 2m at this point.

The calculation Tony and his agent would need to make... would signing and playing like 8-10 games this season (and maybe some playoffs) help increase the value of the next contract? Maybe, but likely not by much. If this had been something the NYR would consider, they should have offered this to Tony like two months ago. Then, there might be real value to Tony to play half a season or more with a team. that could really help his next contract.

Don’t blame him, hasn’t played in months, he knows he getting probably a one year vet minimum salary next year, get all the money you can.

Just wont happen unfortunately. Quinn doesnt think he needs to alter his PP units.

But as an aside, Jones should absolutely take Miller’s PP minutes. Miller does not look right out there. He has a hard time coming up the ice with the puck and making the right decisions. He also seems to panic when receiving passes at the blueline. Just doesnt look smooth. Not saying he cant be a quality PP presence in the future, but for right now I would try Jones
