I mean we absolutely would do that, but it’s basically brass for Mika + 2nd.
Newhook is a 1c on an elc. Col is gonna have cap issues and need young talent. they’ve shown no inclination to trade youth away for the most part.

I couldnt agree more. I LOVE all the skill we have but the playoffs are a completely different beast and you need players that can play and play with snarl.

Without support there is no pressure. This is a 31-32 team league of owners or ownership groups who all have plenty of real money beyond the teams they own. They bargain with a players union to come up with a CBA.

Flexing their revenue generation muscle is just as likely to lose them support than it is to gain it.

If they wanted to change things, make a statement like this when some other team(s) are put in this position. Go the the union and tell them they'd be willing to support some sort of different player safety/ discipline system. Then go back to other owners, presidents and GMs and see if they too would support something different.

Done. Kadri is one of the most underrated players and has grit and skilled. these types yes, no to the Rinaldo types

The current lineup is very obviously temporary while kids grow snd the final core is sorted out. Then you add grit guys. Then you compete

While i do agree with you that the core is not finalized yet but there is a core. Fox, Laf, Kakko, Lindgren, Igor, Panarin, Kravy, Miller are the core. Everyone else can be moved in the right deal. i also have to say we had our chances at players who would fit that mold. We did try to get them. And i dont believe that you add grit after, you need to have grit during so that the kids KNOW how to play.

I mean where does Anderson play? Which young winger gets pushed to the fourth line to play another veteran? Bennet plays, what, 3C and Chytil gets even less than the minimal time he gets now? This is what I mean. The next step for this team, it seemed obvious to me, was to ensure that guys like Laf, Kakko and Chytil could adjust well enough to replace guys like Buch and Strome, then move those guys for real bottom 6 players plus assets and bump the kids up. Right now is a very awkward in between phase, not a final or close to final product by any means
