Alright, changing the subject: Everyone happy with the Strome deal?
I'd rather discuss potential Trouba trades.

Why would younger players learn from Chara's diet? He's 6'9" 250.
Johnson and Smith are already here, and one of those guys is most likely going to be playing as a forward like he did last year and the othee rotating out as a 7th guy. Miller, Hajek, Reunannen are all competing for the LD spots, along with Lindgren who is already here. The Rangers also signed Bidetto so that they can have someone to expose possibly.Johnson and Smith are younger players now? Are you aware we might also have a larger roster than normal and the AHL doesn’t start until February if at all? If that’s the case it’s not hard to imagine somebody like Miller or anyone else learning from just being around Chara for a while and being able to bounce ideas off of him about their play, training, diet etc
It’s most likely not even going to happen I was just saying what the merits could be, you clearly don’t agree and that’s fine but don’t come at me like a jerk about it!
Kreider is a know fitness freak as well. Guess we already got that position covered on the team.Zdeno Chara’s new plant-based diet is paying off on the ice - The Boston Globe
A simple google search does wonders too! It’s just one aspect of being a pro that can rub off on developing players, I didn’t say it was the only one or even the most important .
Chara is known as a fitness freak, I don’t see how that influence could be harmful at all
If Kreider is so committed to fitness, why is he only 6'3"?Kreider is a know fitness freak as well. Guess we already got that position covered on the team.

Who cares? Chara hasn't been a cup winning or norris caliber d man in years. There is plenty of leadership already on this team, and a coaching staff as well. So, once again, it's a horrible idea.Is Kreider a Norris winning Defenseman and Stanley Cup Champion too? Our left side is Lindgren and a bunch of ifs and maybes.

Chara looked pretty cooked last season.
Besides, Chara's options are to re-sign with the Bruins, sign somewhere else for good money, sign somewhere else for a chance at a cup.
Since the Rangers have almost no cap room and aren't contending for a cup next season, what exactly are they offering Chara?
Eh, bringing Chara in for a year isn't as absurd as some would have you believe. He's a good role model, can play sheltered minutes and would provide insight when competing against the B's, which we'll be doing 8 times this season at a time when every game is super important. For a mil, that alone would be worth considering. Don't see it happening for obvious reasons, but it's not a dumb idea. Honestly, he'd be a pretty good fit for the Isles this year.
Yes, because we are a rebuilding team and won’t be competing for the cup next season. Chara on defense would be more likely to turn this team into a bottom 5 contender than a cup contender. But counting on unproven players and journeymen scrubs is a better idea? Last time I checked nobody on this defense has won any hardware in a while either so I guess they all have that in common lol
I'm not totally against it, given the weak left side and the youth of the defense in general. I just don't see any reason that Chara does it.

Team already has plenty of “leaders” and the coaching staff is there to do that. I just like to keep telling you how dumb and stupid your idea was, it makes me laugh.Cool, so we help develop/mentor our prospects and increase our chances of another high pick on top of whatever we get for trading him at the deadline, doesn’t sound all that bad.
Kinda confused why we’re even discussing this since you told me to move on which by your logic means I won the argument lol
Geeesh...for two years....if he signed for peanuts....I would give him the C as well . Which player would be offended by it and worse case scenario one of the offended ones , if any ,might step up their game a bit. Two years of Chara....sign me up !!!Yes I'd take Chara and I'd even offer him (gasp) a 2 year contract at something like $1.1m per season
Dear Lord, this thread...Hey guys....
Remember when Marc Staal got traded and the Rangers won the draft lottery and picked Lafreniere?
