Buchnevich on a beach relaxing when everyone is gearing up for a short camp and a 56 game sprint is typical Buchnevich

anyone imagine he worked out at all this offseason?

Haha I'm sure he did. Most of these guys know what's up and it's their job to eat well and workout. Kind of like we have routines for our jobs whether it's coffee or making a train on time etc.

That's why when it's a situation like Brendan Smith in 2017 or Albert Haynesworth in the NFL, it's story/anomaly.

Honestly Chara would be a tremendous stop gap fit next to Trouba. I love the idea.

this guy can still shut down the left side still a beast and still kill penalties. Sure the foot speed isn’t there but his length makes up for it. He’s night and day better than everyone we have on the left side right now including lindgren.

he’d be a great fit for a team that could use that leadership and grit. I hope it happens

Gordie Clark drafted him. Make it happen......

I posted something similar in the main board thread about Chara but to sum it up quickly this team could absolutely use his voice in the locker room, his leadership and his ability to mentor the young players especially on defense. Our pk was/is horrible and Johnson isn’t fixing that on his own if at all.

Who better than Chara for someone like Miller to lean on and learn from? It’s a shortened season with no guarantee we make the playoffs, why not focus on further developing our stable of youth and if we make the playoffs and maybe even win a round or two that’s just icing on the cake as far as I’m concerned. Chara would bring a lot to the table on a one year deal that’s really only a half year deal when you think about it. You can probably move him for an asset or two if the playoffs clearly aren’t in the cards by the deadline.

There was a thread on the main board about the Rangers going after Chara. Don't know much about the credibility, but I would be very open to that. Chara's defensive efficacy numbers were very good at 5v5 minutes. The leadership he brings would be good, this is still a very young team. Remember he played for Jacques in OTT, they both won cups without each other after years of contention. You can dress 7 to hit the Seattle requirements with Bitetto. Chara would be a value add to the Rangers, without question imo. If he wants to play here, I would say let's find a way to get it done.

Do you guys really care if Chara is displacing Smith, Johnson, or Bitetto?

*looks at brand new Bitetto jersey

YES.

Chara isn’t fixing our PK either and if he’s here where’s Miller playing? Where’s he gonna mentor him, telepathicly while he’s in Hartford.

Smith being "out of shape" was also probably more a case of him just not being quite up to NHL snuff yet still more fit than amateur athletes

If I was you I’d start with reading comprehension first because Kreiderman had nothing to do with what I posted until he posted a gif mocking my response to another poster! And he does that kind of stuff often because he’s part of the protected class in this internet kingdom you all think you rule!

I didn’t instigate anything just defended myself, maybe all of you should look in the mirror and realize you’re just fans like everyone else and you’re not in anyway superior enough to think your entitled to mocking anyone! If Kreiderman didn’t want a response like that he should’ve minded his business but he chose to chirp me so I chirped back, can’t handle that fact? Too bad!

As someone who mostly lurks and really has no skin in the game, from my perspective(operative phrase here) the original response to your post was kind of condescending, but I don't it was over the line or out of place for an internet message board and I think you may have read a little deeper into it than what it actually was (ultimately a difference of opinion on K'Andre's NHL readiness and not a personal quip aimed at you).

If you had responded to that by simply saying: "I don't know who pissed in your cereal this morning, but it is extremely possible that K'Andre will see NHL minutes this year, even if it's just a few games" You would have both defended your point and would have been seen as the level headed one.

The second you start throwing around "I see your little clique! I'm not someone to be messed with, deal with it!!" No one is going to take you seriously or listen to your points (which I personally believe have merit)

As for the stuff about "protected class", from my perspective, everyone on here is respectful if they are engaged respectfully. We have plenty of posters with "old-school" views and "progressive" views that get along quite famously. It's the people that fly off the handle and become belligerent because they don't think their opinions are respected that seemed to get shunned.

No one is going to agree with us 100% of the time, but if we argue our opinions with dignity and respect, it will most likely be returned and we will have the best chance of getting someone else to consider our points of view.

I don’t understand how telling the guy” who pissed in your cereal“ would’ve been seen as me not being hostile or aggressive so I just made an analogy to poking a bear because I’m not the kind of guy you wanna start an argument with for no reason, that’s all!

Why do you choose to inject yourself into this conversation? :sarcasm:

Just a quick FYI: This emoji is LITERALLY called "sarcasm" so you can be sure Kovazub was being sarcastic. As was I.

Yea thanks I know what sarcasm is, wanna condescend me some more? Maybe if you would’ve attached your little sarcasm emoji to your gif I would know you were joking and not just looking to pile on.

Yea I should feel ashamed for suggesting Chara can help our trash left side D and trash PK on a cheap half a season deal and most importantly feel ashamed because you said I should! lol Go f*** yourself! I didn’t even think up the idea I just posted what the merits of said idea could be you dolt!
Chara can’t even skate anymore and he’s roughly 100 years old how’s he gonna help out PK?

Pretty easy, you limit his minutes and play to the strengths he has left, mainly his reach, size and leadership. He doesn’t need to be a speed demon to guard the slot/net on the pk and take away passing lanes with his stick length and reach.

if you would’ve just politely asked me this question to begin with none of this crap would’ve even started but you clearly intended to attack me and call me an idiot which you already admitted to so here we are, happy?
