Speculation: Roster Building Thread LXXI

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. The admin team will continue to work on existing issues, templates and upgrade all necessary available addons to minimize impact of this new version. Click Here for Updates
  • We're expeting server maintenance on March 3rd starting at midnight, there may be downtime during the work.

I never said he was credible, I’m not even the guy who brought up the article being posted on the main boards I just offered my opinion on it. I only posted the link to prove to a certain poster that it wasn’t my idea :laugh:

I dont think anyone seriously thought it was your idea. You are still going on about this 4+ hours later. Take a deep breath and relax already.

Oh my god are you serious? This can’t be serious right? :laugh: And how am I not relaxed? Am I fighting with someone I’m not aware of? It’s over and done with. I just responded to you quoting me, how is that me going on about it? Holy cow some of you guys crack me up!

Perhaps mentioning it in every single post since it happened like 5 hours ago has given some posters the impression that you are obsessing over it. But you do you.

My first thought on Chara is "with what cap room honey?" My second thought is ok so you have 7 people fighting for one LHD spot.

On Team A the young guys: K. Miller, Reunanen, Robertson, and he's down but not out Hajek

On Team B the old guys: Jack Johnson, Anthony Bitetto, and please get off this team already Brendan Smith.

I mean we may as well have Ryan Lindgren come out in a tuxedo hosting a variety show and make those seven guys do obstacles and challenges for one spot.

It makes no sense. I mean I'm all about sending Brendan Smith to gulag (I kid mods I kid) and I don't care about Jack Johnson but where do you put all these people yet alone without Chara?

I see Chara, Lindgren, then battle it out. Smith is his 4th line wing/6th or 7th. Johnson can be a 6 or 7. The other guys fight it out. If a Miller forced himself into a spot - great. If not, he plays elsewhere and isn’t rushed. A guy like Reunanen or Robertson have to come in and take a spot if they want it. Don’t forget injuries and possibly games lost to CoVid protocols. Chara as a shell would still prob be the best LD on the team.

With that said, I seriously doubt it’s realistic.

That nonsense was based around a series of months long conversations between two teams that ultimately got shelved for the time being due to league-wide (and global) uncertainty. But it also kept the door open for the draft day trade that saw the Rangers move up three spots.

The problem is still where do all the other guys play? Do they sit in Hartford for long periods of time?

Cap wise what happens?
