I seriously doubt we are trading Skjei for Nylander.
Yeah the stumbling block for me is that I saw Brady and Jacob are friends? Can you sign Trouba and then trade his friend Brady? Otherwise with our depth on LD it will not be a long term problem.

Yes, they do. CapFriendly already reflects the change.Does the Spooner buy out mean the Rangers now have 3 more opportunities to retain salary? Or still the 2?
“The one thing I think about is it’s time to start winning. That’s why we’re here,” Pegula said during an interview with The Associated Press while sitting next to his wife and team president, Kim, a few hours before the start of the NHL draft in Vancouver.
“We have Ralph on board and some young players, leaders, Jack,” he said, referring to newly hired coach Ralph Krueger and team captain Jack Eichel. “So it’s time to put it all together.”
I really would love to see Skjei without Ruff. He looked amazing with Beukeboom.I'm willing to keep Skjei because he's a good defensman and we lack quality d-men.
No Chia pet this time around though.Bring back Spooner on a cheap 1 year deal and then trade him to Edmonton at the deadline.
I'd take a 2020 1st and a conditional 2021.https://apnews.com/404bc7d88fb048ed8be4ebefdca583d3
That's a team that needs some help at wing and has the cap space to add some players. They also aren't the most attractive destination for free agents. There was talk during the draft of a deal involving Buchnevich. Would they want Kreider? Would he be willing to re-sign there? They also still have interest in Vesey. Ideally I'd like to keep Buch and trade Kreider and Vesey. They could use both of them. A top line of Kreider-Eichel-Skinner would look pretty good.
Injuries derailed Nichushkin's career. Hip and knee problems. Bad combination for a power forward.
Exactly. They’re not adding Trouba this summer just to take away his best option for a LD partner. Besides, moving Skjei now leaves Staal/Smith as your top LD options followed by rookies in Hajek and Lindgren with a grand combined total of 10 games of NHL experience.I'm willing to keep Skjei because he's a good defensman and we lack quality d-men.
It's a shame, because his combination of power and speed was so tantalizing in his draft year. I remember him falling probably because of bad combine interviews (looking back, might be because of some red flags found in his medical) and thinking Dallas got a steal at #10 overall. He is toast. Not worth a league minimum contract.
Speaking of Nichushkin, how did he compare as a prospect to Kravtsov at the time of the draft? I feel like he was very highly touted, I'm shocked at what a busy he's become.
Ok I think I just found what he’s talking about:

Most observers have said the Rangers are not going to be the highest bidder. Rosen said, the hosts on NHLNetwork Radio have reported it. The Rangers are not ‘all-in’ on Panarin.
How can you say they’re not all in when they’re going to offer 10 plus mil a year to a guy? That’s all in. Will they go nuts and pay way more than they should? No. But that to me is all in. There no other guy out there they’d pay like that. That’s all in!
