Who outside of Panarin will be a good get for us on July 1st?
Haven't looked at the free agent list, but I'd prefer they go short term bargain bin huntingWho outside of Panarin will be a good get for us on July 1st?
love miller. Think he is gonna be real good. I dont want to go back to trading our youth/prospects like we used to all the timeI'm actually surprised at how many people wouldn't trade Miller for Nylander
Because at the end of the day it is still someone that is just a prospect (albeit a very good one) for an already established, young, good Top 6 centerWhy?

I mean, Nylander isn't the same as getting 1.5 years of Yandle, 1.5 years of St. Louis, or 28 year old Rick Nash with 9 seasons already under his beltlove miller. Think he is gonna be real good. I dont want to go back to trading our youth/prospects like we used to all the time
I love this idea! Why do I get the feeling that practically no GM would go for that though? That does seem like a completely fair trade off too. Make the cost of business more. This needs to be a real thing.Protected firsts are not going away. No one ever wants to end up like Ottawa.
My solution is a backup exchange...if first is deferred, get a second from then that year and then repay them with a second when the first is conveyed.
I don’t want to wait forever for some return on a deal that important.
I don't even think they necessarily have to wait that long.
Contending teams with a tight cap and not a ton of options should be looking in our direction. Maybe it interferes with their plans on July 1, but Kreider @50% should have tremendous value.
I guess I get it more if you truly believe he cements at Wing rather than CenterIt's not that I think for a minute that Miller is more valuable than Nylander in a vacuum. It's that you're dealing the only prospect in the system who has real top-pairing potential for a guy who is most likely a winger for the rest of his NHL career. That's dealing from weakness to bolster a position that already looks like a strength.
I'd love to land Nylander but I just don't think moving Miller makes any sense at this time.
Even if he's just a prospect, he had an incredible season last year. Not to mention, he's something that this team doesn't have something similar in the system, and not many teams around the league have something similar (and that's even if he doesn't hit his ceiling, which is sky high).Because at the end of the day it is still someone that is just a prospect (albeit a very good one) for an already established, young, good Top 6 center
I'm not even strongly advocating it, but I thought it was something that would be more intriguing than how so many people outright said no to it

No thanks. Keep millerI mean, Nylander isn't the same as getting 1.5 years of Yandle, 1.5 years of St. Louis, or 28 year old Rick Nash with 9 seasons already under his bet
Nobody outside of a guy like Donskoi if the price is cheap.Who outside of Panarin will be a good get for us on July 1st?

Veteran 4C is pretty much a guarantee. I hope they get better vets for Hartford. Bigger players, maybe Gusev's rights would make sense, I'd like Simmonds on a show-me contract but if someone wants to give him 3-4 years forget about him.Who outside of Panarin will be a good get for us on July 1st?
I love Pavelski but don't wanna give him 3 yearsThe homerun swing would be Pavelski. Veteran center, leader, top 6 goal scorer. Rangers have done well with old guys leading their younger teams. Not saying it would be a home hit.
Cap space would be very tight to make it work.
But the more realistic signings would be Bellmare, Acciari, Hathaway, Filpulla.
They want a veteran center on the roster. That's going to be a go-get.
Ancillary pieces for the 4th line that can PK will be a desired option, but they'd have to know that they can move out a Vesey & Names to make it happen.
Why would we get a veteran 4C? Just to push Nieves and Andersson out of their natural position?Veteran 4C is pretty much a guarantee. I hope they get better vets for Hartford. People insanely overrate our own prospects. Nylander is a 1st line wing with a great contract signed long term. Miller could be anything ranging from a 1D to an AHL player. He's looking good so far but this is not Rasmus Dahlin we're talking about here.
Go ahead explain the “problematic” parts. Explain away. Would love to hear the over exaggeration if issues with the other players.Leaving alone the other problematic parts of this post, 7th Ds don’t get into many fights (at least on the ice. We should never dare Smith to get injured in a fight)
Got a lot of NCAA kids signed to AHL contracts, along with our own prospects. I’d wager they don’t sign vets for down there until they hire a coach.I’m in the nobody camp but they will do something . Gonna guess Filpulla and AHL bodies
If they deal Vesey and/or Names it opens up more options . Assuming Kreider stays cause they need a descent first line
