I'm not being an ass, officer! The bold is more likely!

As I said, everyone acknowledged the unlikelihood of a sweetheart deal, I've now done it with you like three times directly. We're at a stage here where nothing is happening so we fill the discussion with other things. You've been around here long enough to know how this works.

But, keep trying to enforce what we can discuss, I'm done.
Just found it odd you were so gun ho on debating with everyone something that slim to zero chance of happening, thats all.

Dutch oven is the best oven.

3 beers and 2 slices of pizza at 2am goes hand in hand with a Dutch oven. Just ask my wife.

If anyone (not you personally) needs all that crap on their pizza, they've never had good pizza before. I'm so rigid on this, that I feel like with certain wines, Italy should come up with some law designating what can actually be called pizza. Seafood on dough is not pizza, Chicken on dough is not pizza, Korean BBQ on dough is not pizza.

This rant is not directed at you, so please don't take offense. I'm Italian from Queens & I obviously take my pizza way too seriously.

Whenever I go to a new pizza joint, I get a plain pie/slice to rate. You can put any amount of crap on regular pizza to hide its deficiencies. I like "artisanal pizzas" that you can get anywhere in restaurants but they are totally different category to me.

But these conversations are always fun... other versions include "is a hot dog a sandwich?" "is soup food or drink?" "is cereal technically soup?"

Nope nope nope....not today Satan.

LOL.

90% of the **** that is thrown around on HF is unlikely to happen. Who made you the judge of what is discussion-worthy?

Yeah, if you proposed Trouba for Poink and 20th OA a week ago, you would have been laughed out of the thread.

If we sign Trouba to anything less than 7.5MM AAV i think its a big success. 7.5 is the level of overpayment imexpecting. Any higher is already meh.

I mean, a really good comparable in Trouba just happened. Hayes at the deadline just happened. Kreider is in a similar discussion as these guys so to think Pulj and the 38th is interesting to the Rangers is insane.

Why do yoh think it’s has taken so long? Bc dubas didn’t really want to sign him to that deal. Why is the marner deal not happened, bc dubas doesn’t want to do it for the same reasons your bringing up.

But he doesn’t have a choice. He either signs them to what they want or they would have tried to sign an offersheet to at least make dubas Match it.
He signed AM in season while he was still under contract so I don't know what your point is. AM couldn't sign an offer sheet in season.

In business it is better to not sign a contract than it is to sign a bad contract.

Yeah, it's pretty out to lunch.

But it never hurts to ask.

I hate this phrase. It does not apply to making deals. If your initial ask is stupid enough then sometimes it isn't even worth the bother of a counter. Some people think of it as a strategy of 'anchoring' but what happens when you cast your anchor too far and it rips off the bow of your boat.

I suspect there's the whole "well he's not signed longterm so he's basically a rental right??" thought happening as well as the Oilers still overvaluing their prospect/playe

I actually wasn't "debating" anyone. I was on the same page with everyone I interacted with. Other than you. For some reason.
Gotcha, I wasn't debating with you, sorry if my comment about lets focus on what is likely to happen came across wrong..wasn't my intention to say what we can talk about or not here.

I forgot the humor tags.
