Not too put the cart before the horse, but Kane doesn't strike me as the kind of player who would be happy playing for a small market or a non contender. I think he either signs here or goes back to Chicago.
good point. I think Chicago would easily outbid us to get him back albeit I realize that rarely happens where a player traded signs right back with his original club. In this case (especially if they win the Bedard sweepstakes) he would probably go back to chicago.

He might want to chase the Chicago all time records.

I doubt that....but it might be the only option available with no cap and almost no depth . Is Othmann ready for prime time in NYC ? It is a huge jump .

He better get ready because if he wasn't too young he wouldve been in the NHL this year

Tampa fans say he's the slowest skating defenseman they've seen.
Have they watched Harpur ? Bad enough Harpur is slow.....but his shot is pitiful . I was wondering if he had limited mobility in his shoulder ? Rangers will LTIR Lindgren and will grab a dman I think .....if that is possible .

The Canucks signing miller to that deal and then not being able to afford to resign Horvat only to then decide to trade miller a few weeks later would be a bigtime WTF
I wonder if they will get more or less for Miller since he's signed to that big contract???
Would it turn off a team to have to pay Miller for 7 more years? I doubt Vancouver will retain beyond this year.

People are scared to move Lindgren as if Fox isn’t one of the best defensemen in the world and could make it work with one of us as his partner lmao
I'm scared of moving Lindgren because we have absolutely no one to replace him. Anyone good enough to fill a top 4 spot is going to cost us more cap space and/or assets.
The NHL should follow the NFL's lead and permit teams to restructure contracts to get cap compliant. There's no reason we should have to trade Goodrow when we should be able to change the remaining 4 years at 3.6M to 5 years at 2.5M, for example, or something along those lines
The NHLPA would have to agree to that, and I don't know why they would.

Zibanejad should play. A bruise won't get any worse. He's probably just sore and swollen as all f*** right now.

Lindgren should sit for a bit though.
well if there is swelling I would sit him vs a philly team we should beat anyway but I'm not a doc.
Yeah shoulders are tricky. Let all that inflammation and pain go away before continuing to get checked into the boards on that shoulder.

Penguins gutting the farm to add JTM and still lose in the first round? Then they'll be left holding the bag with that albatross contract in 2 years when Sid is looking to move on to a real contender in his twilight years? Make it happen Hextall!
what farm?

theyre gonna have to send 43728114537821 picks to make this happen, or somehow figure out a way to take the full cap hit.

They were all primed to trade Miller at the absolute highest his value would ever be and somehow ended up buying it themselves.

What really makes it funny is that horrendous contract doesn’t kick in until next season lol.
