I just don't see it. Hope I am wrong. The Rangers are in my opinion making the same mistakes they always have, bringing in "names" who did stuff back in their day, who no longer do that stuff.

I don't need to list the players, anyone who has followed this team long enough knows the "names." It worked once like 30 years ago and they are still trying the same idea.
Remember one thing: Drury grew up as a fan of this team so he is no doubt aware of the patterns in our past. I trust him.

Boeser will not terrorize us lol he sucks. If it weren't for his reputation based off of his rookie season he wouldn't be a household name. He's one of the most one dimensional players in the league, and usually that word describes a player who's fast, has hands, shot, playmaking etc but no defense. The only attribute Boeser has that's above league average is his wrist shot. He's slow, soft, has no hands, no defense, no vision, nothing
iirc he got a pretty bad back injury and hasn't been the same since

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Pens go after Miller. They're going to squeeze every drop of playoff opportunity out of that aging core that they can. Heard from a few people locally that they don't want Crosby and Malkin to ride out the end of their career on an embarrassing organizational downturn the way Kane and Toews have. They want them to retire as Penguins chasing championships.

IMO this is different from stuff of the past because drury clearly isn't all in on just going for big names (last year he didn't) and isn't selling the farm to do it. He wasn't even going to go for Kane until it sounds like the offer was too good to pass up

I never said not give up anything for him. A first in 2024 if we make cup finals isn't nothing (2nd rounder otherwise).
Also hate to even bring this up because not even worth discussing but what are people think Kane is gonna take to play here next year and beyond? 3 million? 4 million? lol
Sure he's gonna light it up these playoffs and take a 7 million dollar pay cut to play with the New York Rangers
It's going to a pick plus a prospect, always was. I just hope it's not a top 5 guy. It remains to be seen what the numbers look like with Kane so Im not going to get into that either but I do believe it is a real possibility. He's already made it perfectly clear this is where he wants to play.

Seems like he'd be Rakell redux for Pittsburgh. Not a needle mover.

I dont get all the Tarasenko hate. 'is he playing' 'he sucks' 'horrible'.

but it was the same for Trocheck too when he got here and it's still actually prevalent....

IMO preconceived notions are blinding objectivity

What are you talking about? That NEVER happens here.

Its not this like this a place where players get blamed for goals against that they weren't even on the ice for.

Yep. I don't think people realize the human impact on having to move both player and their family to NYC. It's always going to create at least a short term hiccup in their lives, which inevitably will show out in their play.

Trocheck had a slow start, but is turning it on now. Hopefully the same happens for Tarasenko (and potentially Kane).

I don't care what Tarasenko's production is right now. I care what his production is in the playoffs.

I refuse to believe the team will fall apart at the seams if he gets moved at some point

Sorry lol
Maybe they won't but there is no reason to trade a 25yo tough as nails defenseman when they have a limited Dman pipeline. One of Robertson or Jones being traded in the Kane deal will only make that worse.

22 games in 44 days coming up. Will be quite the ride. Our lack of roster space is an obvious risk. Using LTIR on Lindgren to free up space for a depth player (D) would likely be reccomended. Waive Harpur when Lindy is healed up and ready. Nobody will nab him. We have a total of 4 callups available until the POs. Plus emergency stuff which is very temporary relief. We are going to get hit with some bonus money for ELCs next year too it seems.

I created a poll to see who thinks that a 1st rounder will go to the Hawks in the Kane deal....would love to see your opinions there....and we can see who gets it right

Trocheck actually started very well this season. He hit a major slump in November/December and only recently broke out of it
