If unsigned jeannot is getting an entire draft class from TB, 2 time (3 time?? :naughty:) Cup winner Barclay Goodrow could easily get a 1st or a 2nd and another pick from a a fringe playoff team looking to add size and toughness like we did a couple years ago.
How good is Cal Foote ? That is my burning question .

Jones can play RD ;)

Not in a playoff series for Gerard Gallant he can't. Not an ideal situation for any party to have a young undersized D-man forced into action on his off side during a playoff series. Jones has a future but we need to be realistic with what the team will actually do this postseason.

Torts gonna Torts. Braun and Motte both oddly held out for more from the Rangers this summer and they didnt exactly go to good situations. I bet if they had a do-over they both wouldve resigned for cheap.
Yeah I've been hoping they get Braun back for a while. He's at least proven to be ok with Schneider.

People are scared to move Lindgren as if Fox isn’t one of the best defensemen in the world and could make it work with one of us as his partner lmao

Yeah I can see your point about trading picks instead.

From what I've seen in the Hartford thread, Robertson hasn't been too impressive in the A this year.
Mixed reviews on Robertson this year but still a believer that Dmen take a little longer to come around. 6 points in his last 10 games. About a .5 ppg pace in the AHL at 21 isn't bad.

Not very apparently. Friend of mine is a Lightning fan (dont ask) and werent sad to see him go. This guy Perbix passed him on the depth chart there.

We also know he can play both sides and not make a fool of himself. Schenn is also intriguing because he has won 2 Cups and he would satisfy the need to "get tougher". As a 7D he'd be slotted perfectly.

It's not just for another rental. It's for Patrick Kane and some believe he will actually not be a rental. Are they not supposed to give up anything for him? You are talking about a future HOFer and 3 time cup winner who can still play. I like Robertson but he was the Rangers 8th ranked prospect in voting by this board and quite frankly the jury is still out on what he will be in the NHL. He has struggled at times for Hartford and is a mid tier prospect. Giving up only a 2nd plus a mid tier prospect would be a win.
I never said not give up anything for him. A first in 2024 if we make cup finals isn't nothing (2nd rounder otherwise).
Also hate to even bring this up because not even worth discussing but what are people think Kane is gonna take to play here next year and beyond? 3 million? 4 million? lol
Sure he's gonna light it up these playoffs and take a 7 million dollar pay cut to play with the New York Rangers

Yes but we can survive moving him for Patrick Kane. Anyone can turn out to the next Ryan Graves but that's the chance you take sometimes. At least this time we're not trading him for whoever the hell Chris Bigras is.

Yes, any deal done after 5 pm EST today will count towards Wednesdays cap so we should expect the deal to be done today so that Kane can practice with the Rangers tomorrow morning.

More then likely he is already in NY but this is me just speculating.

Rangers are in Philly tomorrow. Wouldn’t be shocked if he already has that flight ready to go for tonight. lol

I think he is home now in Chicago awaiting the trade.

Don’t get me wrong I know it weakens us on the left side but again something has to give. And goodrow is going to be tough to move.

I think Kane is def resigning. He’s not doing this major push to only go to ONE team for one cup run. Just to turn around over the summer and go somewhere else. Not worth it.
I could see him going to buffalo in the offseason.

Home town, team on the rise, young star in thompson to play with

Looks like more of the same for Igor.

He's so worried about 5 hole, going wider to collapse quicker... Everything else, pad up, has opened up. He's become a sieve anything mid-high on the corners.

Not too put the cart before the horse, but Kane doesn't strike me as the kind of player who would be happy playing for a small market or a non contender. I think he either signs here or goes back to Chicago.
